2025 LICENCE RENEWAL

Hi players! With the start of a new season comes the need to renew your BFA Player Licence, which you can do through Coral. It’s just a matter of going to your profile in Coral and clicking ‘Renew’, and your licence should be automatically renewed, although you'll need to pay your club for it because it becomes active.

- A Class A licence is required in order to play in ITSF tournaments, the UK Championships, and Team GB. Class A licences now cost £20 for the season.
- A Class B licence is required to play in the BFA’s Challenger tournaments, the UK Club Championships and regional level events. A Class B licence costs £5 for the season.
- A Class C licence is required to play in local and recreational events. A Class C licence is free.
- There is no longer a club affiliation fee. Clubs can affiliate with the BFA for free.

Licence fees should be paid to your club (who tick it off as paid in Coral), and in due course the BFA will follow up to ensure this is paid over. Please email the BFA’s Coral team ([email protected]) if you have any questions on the renewal process, or indeed anything to do with Coral.

Now. Back to the table!

The BFA’s Annual General Meeting will be held online on Tuesday 11th February at 7pm. This is your opportunity to get involved with what we’re doing. We’ll review our activities over the past 12 months, and look at how we’re doing financially. We’ll discuss our plans for the future. Is there something you really want to make happen in foosball-land? This is your chance to put your hand up and make things happen.

The meeting details will be circulated to club leaders as well as the BFA’s company members, or you can register to join the meeting by emailing [email protected].

Two weeks ago, on the weekend of 8 Nov 2024, foosball players from all over the South West (and further afield) gathered at the EXMOUTH CHALLENGER ! We had players travel from Truro, Plymouth, South Brent, Taunton, Yeovil, Bristol and London to compete at the event.

The event was organised by Team Oates, Dave and James, and Steve Lyall, who did a superb job! The event was played on 4 brand new Leonhart tables, which was a complete treat for those of us playing our weekly/monthly foosball on substandard tables. 😂

The tournament included 3-days of foosball action: Friday, Monster DYP; Saturday, Open and Amateur Doubles; and Sunday, Open Singles.

Congratulations to Plymouth TFC players on their results over the weekend!

MDYP: Jamie Lee 🥉 and Alan Pengelly 🥈

Amateur Doubles: John Rossi and Grant January 🥉

As a side note, it was good to see a few juniors compete and/or just be present at the tournament, which is shows growth for grassroots foosball.

Thank you to the organisers for all the hard work and for putting together and running a really fun event.

Thanks to Dave Oates and the new Leonhart tables in the SW, there should be a lot more competitive foosball in our region for the 2025 calendar year. Stay tuned!

Hi foosers!

We haven't been at our HQ Cornwall Gates Sports Bar recently because of travelling to play across the UK.

The weekend of 12-14 April we had foosball fun at the ITSF250 Pro Tour in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. This was a great event on Roberto Sport tables, which always makes for fast paced, competitive, foosball chaos! There were also lots of international guests which brought flare, character, and laughter to the tournament. Please see photos from the event attached!

I played No Pro Doubles with Giuseppe and Open Doubles with Mariusz. Mariusz and I managed to narrowly lose the final of the Open Doubles - Semi Pro event but came home with a silver.

That's two 🥈 in the last two tournaments! Good to see progression and hope the winning streaks continue 🤞🏽.

Thank you to Bill, Martin, Steve and the whole Warwickshire team for one of the best foosball tournaments I've had the pleasure to participate in in the UK.

So, what's next?

Tomorrow, Sun 28 April the Plymouth and Dartington crews head to Taunton for our second SW League fixture for this year.

Next weekend, 3-5 we head to Horley for the Gatwick Challenger, which should be loads of fun!

..And, maybe some more Leonhart action brewing in the SW?...Stay tuned!
That's it from me, for me.

Hopefully, see you all on the table soon,

Grant.

We’re pleased to announce our new national captains. Congratulations to Richard Marsh (Men’s), Eliza Kilian (Women’s) and Dave Ziemann (Seniors). Each is wise and experienced, well-positioned to lead our teams to the 2025 World Cup in Zaragoza, Spain. Let's go Team GB.
