The last two years of running Guz.tech have been brilliant. We’ve loved welcoming so many people and hearing the brilliant speakers. Very sadly, due to our personal commitments, the organisers are unable to commit to a conference in 2025.

We’d like to apologise to anyone who has already made plans (sorry!) and we’ll review early next year to see whether a conference can take place in 2026

Thank you so much to everyone involved in organising Guz.tech 2024 and for all those that contributed to the raffle in aid of DDRC Healthcare. Event organiser Fran kindly presented to us the amazing raffle donations collected which totalled £2080.00!!!!
Special thanks must go to Will at Guz.tech for his enthusiasm and drive in promoting the raffle.
Incredible donations such as this allows us to support the diving community in ways that our NHS funding does not cover eg diver safety and education, diving research, Fitness to Dive support and accommodation costs for emergency divers if required so thank you everyone.

A great opportunity for a student interested in the fields of maritime archaeology and shipwrecks. Please share with anyone who might be interested in applying

The IMASS manages a fund that supports continuing education in the field of maritime research by promoting seminars and courses associated with our annual Shipwreck Conference. The fund was set up in memory of two former members, Roy Davis and Neville Oldham.

New for 2025, the fund will sponsor up to four students (undergraduate or postgraduate) from local universities interested in maritime history and archaeology.

The fund will cover:
→ Ticket to the conference held on Saturday, 1st February 2025
→ Lunch at the conference
→ Post-conference evening meal at the Crown Plaza Hotel
→ Ticket to the event workshop held on Sunday, 2nd February 2025
→Standard travel to-from the conference and accommodation in Plymouth (if required)

To apply for sponsorship, complete the application form on the link below by Friday 17th January 2025. Students will be selected by the IMASS committee and notified by Monday 20th January 2025.

Really enjoyed catching Graeme Bruce in the shop this morning, his talk at .tech was definitely one to catch! He was dropping his suit off for repair and service to tackle the dives for 2025 and had the team captivated with stories of some of the incredible finds and expeditions!
