Good luck to William and Sian today as the compete at the 3rd LMC Championships in Southampton.

Last weekend William passed his grading and is now a 1st Dan black belt!

He has spent years training and working hard week in and week out and is now ready for the next chapter of his taekwondo journey!

Congratulations William, we are all so proud of you!

A few weeks have now passed since this years national championships and as we reflect on Sian’s performances there is so much we as a club are proud of.

It was her first time fighting in both junior and senior categories and although her junior match didn’t go the way we would’ve wanted it to she still managed to regroup and put in an excellent performance against a strong opponent in her senior category, unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough for a victory but she showed maturity and strength and this will sit well as she transitions in to seniors next year.

Sian should be extremely proud of her performance in seniors and her well deserved bronze medal.

We continue to work hard in training and look forward to 2026!

Today we are in Sheffield for the 2025 British Taekwondo National Championships.

This years event has over 950 athletes competing over two days. Sian is competing in both junior and senior categories which could mean up to 5 matches for her today!

Preparation has gone really well and now we go and test ourselves against some the best fighters this country has to offer

Last weekend we travelled to Cardiff for the 5th Wales TKD International Championships.

This is always a great competition that runs smoothly and it definitely helps that it is the closest competition to our base in Plymouth.

Once again we only had a small team but this didn’t seem to matter as the performances from the athletes and support from the parents made it a great day.

All four athletes really did perform amazingly and despite it being Alex and Ivanna’s first competition special mention must go to Alex for his grit and determination in his matches, he really is one to look out for in the future!

Medals as follows:

Ivanna - bronze 🥉
William - gold 🥇
Alex - gold
Sian - gold x2 (junior and a senior match)

Well done also to our friend .barbara who I had the pleasure of coaching to a gold medal with a fantastic knockout.

And finally we wish our coach a speedy recovery. He unfortunately wasn’t able to make it with us this weekend due to an accident in Austria. Get well soon Steve. 🙏
