Over the last winter the Exe spearfishing club has organized for its members a smoking course with The Exmoor Game School and was held at The Spearfishing School .

I had a nice piece of Po***ck back and octopus tentacles, that was first cured for 36hrs.

Once cure the Po***ck was left to dry for another 36hrs, the octopus was pressure cooked for 1h before drying.

Then 12hrs in the cold smoker.....

Octopus is now sliced and marinated in olive oil and herbs. And the Po***ck ready to be thin sliced...

Tried Nikos' handmade 90cm wooden speargun (double 14mm bands) yesterday, and it lives up to the hype.

Handling is smooth, with a comfortable, non-slip grip and a well-balanced handle angle.

The balance in the water is spot on. it sits flat and moves effortlessly with just a light touch.

Accuracy on longer shots was solid, and overall it feels like a well-built gun worth the money.

Only personal tweak would be a double-barbed spear, but that’s just preference.

All in all, a very good bit of kit.
