Earned, not given!
Been having a rough time lately, struggling to feel positive about how I'm doing with work, training, life.
One of the things that really helps me is going over pics and videos I've taken since I've started at nearly 3 years ago.
In that time, I've worked with a lot of people, helping them to push themselves and make positive changes.
Many of them have helped me also.
I'll be looking to give back more, and create something that's bigger than myself.
A community of like minded people, helping each other to be better. In matching tshirts 😋

Shout out to Kathryn for her progress so far!
7kg down, and 3.5 inches from the waist gone FOREVER!
What I like the most about this one, is that Kathryn did it her way. She took her time, and enjoyed a busy social life with plenty of meals and nights out, dates etc, while still making progress towards her goal.
What I love to do more than anything, is to educate people about the basics of nutrition, and empower them to make their own choices, as long as they are within the framework of what works for their goal.
In case of fat loss it’s all about reducing how much energy you put in from the food you eat, and keeping the protein intake high to help build muscle mass.
She started off tracking her calories, then later on there were times when she just exercised her judgement, and made better food choices.
She’s managed to lose over a stone, all without feeling too restricted, which is why I know she can keep it off for life, and has all the knowledge to get leaner still!

Client gains post.
Here's Andy, who's been working with me for the past 12 weeks.
Here's what happened:
-Lost 7kg of bodyweight. He's now leaner and more muscular. Friends and colleagues have noticed... The ladies have noticed...
-Lost 3 inches around his waist. He's had to buy a lot of new trousers.
-Improved his strength on EVERY exercise. He wanted to double his weight on the leg press within a year, we got there in less than 3 months. Currently working on doubling his Squat.
-He can move better, and with less pain. Thanks to for helping out with a little rehab stuff.
This is just the beginning. Give it another 3 months and you won't recognise him.

Here's a little client appreciation post.
Cher has been one of my most dedicated clients, and an absolute pleasure to work with.
Since training with me she has managed to loose over 9.5kg (21lbs) in bodyweight, as well as become visibly more "toned" (muscular💪) and WAY stronger.
For me, the most amazing thing is that within just a couple of months she went from dying on the warm ups, to gruelling gym sessions after a full day's of tough, physical work in her business. She went from dreading it, to loving it!
She is soon making a comeback to training, after a period of working away, and I cannot wait to see her progress again!

Build your STRENGTH.
Strength is THE fundamental fitness quality. It affects the way you do ANYTHING. They way you run, squat, jump, lunge or throw.
There's a stigma around strength training. People think it's for "meatheads" they think it's dangerous. Women think they will instantly grow a beard and get massive arms as soon as they touch a barbell.
This couldn't be further from the truth. The truth is, if you don't train to develop your strength, you will never progress much in your fitness. If you can't be strong, you will never be fast. You will never be powerful. If you can't be strong you will always have poor balance.
There's a reason why MOST professional atheletes from sprinters to golfers dedicate a good amount of their training to developing strength. Not only will it make you faster and more powerful, it will also make you less likely to get injured. You will be able to work consistently harder and burn more calories. Your bones will be denser, more resitant to breaks.
Most new gym goers avoid lifting heavy. For some, it's scary. As a PT, it's also much easier to stick you on a rower, and shout at you to go faster. It takes no coaching skills, and it's fun to watch you suffer. But that's not how I train people.
Strength training takes time. It takes attention. Patient coaching.
Take the time to build your strength. Show the barbell some respect.
IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

Training and diet, like many things in life, can be difficult to get started on.
Like pushing a sled, it's hard to get it going. But after the first push, you start to build momentum, and it gets easier.
Don't quit before the first step. Start small, start imperfect.
