🧠 PLAYER SIGNING | #12

The maestro is back to pull the strings… 🧠

Our number #12 is back for his 2nd season with Whites and the 2026/27 campaign after being our signing of the season last season.

A clever, composed playmaker, he operates mainly in central midfield with a football brain beyond his years and is a natural goal finisher. He reads the game well, finds space, and helps the team control possession and move the ball forward.

Dominates in central midfield, excellent Striker and also able to play anywhere outfield, he’s growing in confidence each game and becoming even more effective in how he links play and brings others into the game.

His understanding of space, positioning and decision-making continues to go from strength to strength, and he’s developing into an important creative influence within the squad. He's really worked on keeping his attitude top notch this season and looks to encourage and spur his team mates on at all times.

We’re delighted to have him back with the group this season.

🧱 PLAYER SIGNING | #5

The brick wall isn't coming down… 🧱

Our number #5 returns for the 2026/27 campaign, making this his 4th season at MAP.

A calm, dependable defender who relishes the battle, Quinn has developed into a rock at the heart of our defence over the past three seasons. Whether playing at right-back or centre-back, he reads the game well, stays composed under pressure and consistently puts his body on the line for the team.

What really stands out is his determination, resilience and willingness to improve. Quinn embraces every challenge, listens, learns and gives everything for the badge. Strong in the tackle, reliable in possession and always prepared to do the hard work that often goes unnoticed, his selfless, team-first mentality perfectly reflects the culture we're building at Whites.

We're delighted to have our brick wall back for his 3rd exciting season in a Whites shirt.

πŸ’™πŸ©΅πŸ€ TRAINING REPORT | MAP Kings Whites U9s ⚽

Following yesterday's fantastic tournament success, the boys earned one of their favourite training sessions... a fun but fiercely competitive evening! πŸ˜„πŸ†

The squad was split into teams and competed across a series of mini challenges, testing a wide range of football skills including passing and shot accuracy and power, sprint speed, reactions, and plenty more.

There was plenty of friendly rivalry, great teamwork and lots of encouragement between teammates, with every point counting towards the overall team standings. It was brilliant to see the boys enjoying themselves whilst continuing to develop key technical skills.

πŸ† Congratulations to our winning team, the self-proclaimed "Bomb Squad" πŸ’£, made up of:

βš”οΈ #2
πŸ›‘οΈ #6
🎯 #7
⚑ #8

A well-deserved victory after consistently performing across all of the challenges. πŸ‘

πŸ† TOTW | #2 βš”οΈ

Trainer of the Week was awarded to #2 following another excellent week.

After a strong defensive performance on Saturday, he backed it up with outstanding effort and determination in training. He never gives up, competes in every challenge with real intensity and played a huge part in helping his team secure victory by scoring consistently across the different activities.

It's also fantastic to see the extra work he's been putting into his individual coaching continuing to pay dividends. His attitude to improving is exactly what we're looking for and he's becoming stronger week by week. Keep it up! πŸ‘

Attention now turns to another exciting challenge this Saturday as we welcome Plymouth Marjons Youth St Marks U10s for another important pre-season fixture.

The hard work continues... πŸ’™πŸ©΅πŸ€

⚑ PLAYER SIGNING | #8

Lightning strikes again! ⚑

Our number #8 returns for the 2026/27 campaign for his 5th season with MAP.

He's been with us from the very beginning of the journey at U5 coaching school, and it's been fantastic to watch his development season after season.

He's developed into one of the most exciting and dynamic players in the squad, he brings electric pace, relentless energy and a real eye for goal. Whether playing on the right wing, or leading the line as Striker, he's always looking to make things happen and has developed into a constant attacking threat.

What stands out just as much as his ability is his hunger and determination to improve. He listens, applies his coaching points and embraces learning new positions for the benefit of the team. His willingness to always work hard, combined with his positive attitude and team-first mindset, has seen his game go from strength to strength.

We're excited to see him continue his development in Division 2 this season.

πŸ’™πŸ©΅πŸ€ MANSTOW FESTIVAL πŸ† CHAMPIONS AGAIN... OLE OLE! πŸ†

Back-to-back Manstow Champions! πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡

What a fantastic afternoon for our boys, who successfully retained their Manstow Festival of Football title, becoming champions for the second consecutive year! πŸ‘πŸ‘

Coming into today's tournament, there was plenty of expectation. As defending champions, the boys knew they had a target on their backs and were drawn arguably the toughest route through the competition, with no group bye into the semi-finals. Every game mattered from the very first whistle.

After yesterday's honest learning experience, the response from every single player was outstanding.
The focus, intensity and togetherness were back. Every player embraced their individual role, trusted the game plan and worked tirelessly for one another. Tournament football is unforgiving with matches lasting just 10 minutes, where a single mistake or moment of quality can decide your fate. We faced some excellent opposition throughout the afternoon, with several tightly contested games, but the boys remained composed, disciplined and resilient from start to finish.

The biggest difference from yesterday was our mentality. The boys took on board the learning, applied it immediately and showed exactly what they're capable of when everyone is fully switched on.

πŸ† POTT | #5 🧱
Today's Player of the Tournament was awarded to #5 for an immense defensive display throughout the afternoon.
Quite simply, he was a brick wall.
Focused from the very first whistle, he won his battles, defended with composure and gave the opposition very little opportunity to break through. His concentration and determination were outstanding all tournament, and to top it off he scored the winning goal in the semi-final, battling uphill to send us through to the final. A performance that perfectly reflected our team values - hungry, humble and relentless.

πŸ‘ Every single player deserves enormous credit today.

Each boy carried out their role brilliantly, worked selflessly for the team and contributed to another memorable tournament victory. That's what makes this group so special.

As coaches and parents, we couldn't be prouder of how the boys responded after yesterday. Learning from setbacks, showing resilience and bouncing back is what development football is all about.

Back-to-back champions... and memories that will last a lifetime. πŸ†πŸ’™πŸ©΅πŸ€

πŸ›‘οΈ PLAYER SIGNING | #6

The left side just got stronger. πŸ›‘οΈ

We're delighted to welcome our new number #6 to the Whites for the 2026/27 campaign.

An exciting new addition to the squad, he brings strength, determination and a real desire to compete. Whether defending one-on-one or driving forward from the left-hand side, he approaches every challenge with intensity, bravery and a never-give-up attitude.

What has impressed us most is his hunger to improve. Since joining the Whites, he has committed himself to additional high-quality coaching, with a particular focus on becoming more composed in possession and confident receiving the ball under pressure. The improvement in such a short space of time has been outstanding and is a real credit to his work ethic and willingness to learn.

Just as importantly, he has settled into the group brilliantly. Humble, hardworking and always putting the team first, he's already embraced the values we're building at Whites and we're excited to see his development continue throughout the season.

We're delighted to welcome #6 to the Whites and can't wait to watch his journey unfold.

πŸ’™πŸ©΅πŸ€ ROUND ROBIN REPORT | MAP Kings Whites U9s ⚽

Today saw the boys take on Drake Colts U10s, Drake Youth U9s and our friends from MAP Juniors U9s in a challenging round robin as our pre-season preparations continued.

If we're being honest, we were slow to get going this morning and didn't match the intensity, focus and concentration we know we're capable of from the very first whistle. After last week's excellent performance, it was a reminder that every game demands the right mindset from the very beginning.

At this level, we can't afford to wait until halfway through the morning to switch on. That's something we'll continue to work on as a group.

Following a firm discussion after the second fixture, the boys responded brilliantly and showed much more of what they're capable of. The intensity improved, the work rate increased and we produced a much stronger final performance to finish the morning on a positive note. πŸ‘

The management team also takes responsibility today. With a squad of 10 available, rotations became difficult and constant changes to personnel and formations disrupted our rhythm. It reinforced the importance of keeping squad sizes manageable for 7v7 fixtures and, moving forward, we feel 9 players on game day is probably the maximum to ensure consistency, balanced game time and minimise disruption.

Defensively, there were some valuable lessons to take away. Several goals came from second-phase situations following initial saves or loose balls in the box, where we weren't quite alert enough as a team to react first. Supporting our goalkeeper, recovering quickly and tracking runners are all areas we'll continue working on together as we prepare for the season ahead.

πŸ† POTW | #8 ⚑

Today's Player of the Week was awarded to #8 for a relentless display of energy, intensity and work rate throughout all three fixtures.

Whether playing as a striker or wide attacker, he consistently chased down defenders, pressed aggressively, worked tirelessly to win the ball back and created several opportunities through his own determination and effort. Unlucky not to get the goals his performance deserved.

Big contenders for POTW today were:

πŸ›‘οΈ #6 – Continued to settle brilliantly into his left-back and left wing-back roles. Worked hard throughout, defended strongly and showed great determination from start to finish.

🧠 #12 – Once again demonstrated his versatility and team-first mentality. Comfortable playing wherever the team needed him, whether in central midfield or central defence, helping us build attacks and keeping us organised throughout the morning.

The biggest positive today was the response for the 3rd and final fixture. The boys showed great character after being challenged and finished the morning strongly. Hopefully today's lessons provide the wake-up call we need heading into tomorrow's Manstow U8s Tournament.

Early nights might be required! 😴⚽

πŸ§€πŸ›‘ PLAYER SIGNING | #1

Between the sticks... the wall remains! πŸ§€πŸ›‘

Our number #1 returns again for the 2026/27 campaign.

Calm under pressure and fearless in 1v1 situations, he has developed into a dependable last line of defence. Blessed with outstanding shot-stopping ability, safe handling and composure, he has given the team countless important match defining saves, giving confidence to everyone playing in front of him.

What really stands out is his commitment to improving. Alongside team training, he dedicates extra time to high-quality specialist goalkeeper coaching, always looking to develop his positioning, decision-making and all-round game. His work ethic, willingness to learn and determination to be the best goalkeeper he can be perfectly reflect the values we're building as a team.

We're delighted to have our number one back between the sticks for his 3rd exciting season campaign with Whites.
