Here is a little 3D printed project from earlier in the year. Wanted something a little different than the norm and being a Vdub fan went with this volkswagen Type3 Squareback. Built up a Tamiya TT02D chassis as a nice and simple base. Then went about making the body. It's a lot more work than just masking up some lexan but doubt you will see another one!

Not a lot going going on as we have not had a track for a while now.
Going to start posting some projects and stuff for some content.
Start of with a little trip down to Plymouth RC Truckers night on sat. Some cracking trucks driving about.
Also a little drift track so had a good blast with the Vdub.
They run the last Sat of every month so pop down and check it out.

SWIRC may not be racing but for the old skool grass lovers then West Cornwall RC is where its at! They race just the other side of Camborne, every Wednesday eve.
I took a quick trip round the corner to see the nights racing and catch up with a few old friend and orginal SWIRC members. I've not raced on full grass since my DMS racing days back in 95', this track is epic!
They are running a Regional at the beginning of July so get booked in, 4wd Sat, 2wd Sun.
The SWIRC club will eventually get back racing again. The club itself is on hold at the moment but does have every intention to start again, it is just very hard with current work commitments and family.

Apologies that there hasn't been any updates on the club/track. We will be back up and running at some point but not 100% sure yet.
In the meantime I have copied and pasted the links to a few clubs over Devon/Cornwall. These clubs are all run by friends and are an epic day / nights racing ๐
โคต๏ธ
Torbay Micro......epic nights racing with some incredibly fast drivers running 1/14 scale. This is a Friday night club so a good way to end the week. Situated just off the seafront. They race all year round.

๐๐๐๐๐
Tiverton.....This is an outdoor astro track so if you want some summer fun then this needs to be on your list of tracks to visit. Impeccably run with some of the fastest drivers in the SW attending!

๐๐๐๐๐
Mendip.....Again this is an epic venue and just like Tiverton it's an astro track. Fast drivers of all ages and a brilliant day out. Both Tiverton and Mendip are run on opposite weekends to eachother and they run 10th 2wd / 4wd

๐๐๐๐๐
Plymouth RC.......this clubs just off the A38 at ernesettle and races anything 8th scale, both nitro and electric. It's an astro track with a mixture of surfaces with big jumps. You can also smell the sea from here.

๐๐๐๐๐
West Cornwall RC.....this clubs for all the races who want a bit of old school grass action. Situated further down in Cornwall near Redruth it races on its grass track during the summer and indoor onroad during the winter. Brilliant summer nights racing on some grass

๐๐๐๐๐
TRAC......If you want big jumps, mad features all throughout the winters then this is the venue. Huge track, huge pitting and huge grip. I've mad love for this club ๐, in my eyes it's No.1 in the South West for indoor.

๐๐๐๐๐
Mid Devon RC Raceway......Another epic venue for winter indoor racing. Between this club and TRAC you've got enough winter racing to keep you away from the Mrs for around 6 month. Again an epic day's racing!

That should keep everyone going for a while. Give the pages a like for updates ๐

Club update, re-launch ๐
So last night a few of us from the club met up to organise the restarting of the club and it couldn't have gone any better, beers food and some positive progress. We will call this a re launch because we left our last venue just before Covid kicked off so we weren't able to move into the new hall, then as time went on the pandemic got more serious so actually getting anything restarted was very difficult. Fast forward around 20 months we are now in a position to seriously get racing again ๐
Could I ask you all a massive favour, if you are seriously interested in racing with us again could you please put a comment on this post so we can get an idea on numbers. We are ideally looking to start again within the next 3 to 4 weeks.
Race night details.
Venue - Menheniot Village Hall (PL14 3RR)
Dates - Twice a month, every other Friday
The hall is big, if anyone has ever been to Cadicot and raced it equal in size to their venue, possibly slightly bigger so we have more than enough space to run some good nights again.
We are after carpet, EOS or similar. If anyone knows of any rolls going please let us know. We will even settle for the high grip but cheap exhibition carpet as a stop gap.
Race fees, these would drop back down to around ยฃ7 for one class and ยฃ10 for 2.
We run an Rc4 decoder so all current PT's work.
Classes
10th 2wd
10th 4wd
Vintage
Thanks for being patient, we will see you all trackside very soon ๐๐

Some very sad news coming out of South West Indoor RC today ๐ญ
The Lupo club car is no more, It has blown up ๐ฅ
Many of you will know that this car went everywhere and totalled up a comfortable 265k miles. It took me and a few others from the club right across the country in absolute luxurious style that would usually be found in much more expensive brands. Nationals, Club days and race weekends you name it, it went EVERYWHERE, it never failed to get us there! We even had a spectacular blow out a few miles from Midlands Raceway 5 mins before the 1st round of the Micro Nationals back in 2015. Spare tyre on me and Johnny May still made it for practice ๐
. We didn't have to fear if we were running late, it's 75bhp Tdi engine had ample power, sometimes if anything it had too much power. Race days will never be the same again......
RIP.....Gone but never forgotten! Thankyou for all the happy times and the dodgy MOT'S you gave us ๐โค

With the epic news of TRAC starting up again for the Winter season I thought I'd take you all back almost 7 years with a magical moment that I was lucky enough to catch on camera, at TRAC! Its one of those moments where if it wasn't got on film you'd say it never happened!
Callum and Ash's engagement! ๐
I was lucky enough to be there, along with Simon in the background to witness this beautiful moment โบ

We used to have some epic race nights ๐ฅณ
Our Xmas Specials were always a night to remember ๐คช
The night would consist of a massively over ambitious layout, too many cars per heat and a time schedule that was never in a million years ever going to be met ๐
๐, but we had so much fun ๐
I remember saying to a few of the guys in the club let's just make this Xmas layout a wild one so we did, we started building the track and put down a huge triple section. It was an epic layout to end the year.
We had over 50 racers this night, it was epic โบ
