A wonderful evening last Friday at The Mayfair in London to celebrate the incredible achievements of each and every crew who took on the Atlantic this year! We were so proud to accept our certificates and to reunite with so many fabulous people with whom we will always share a special bond. Thank you to WTR for a really special evening and for their fantastic efforts in organising this challenge (and The Pacific crossing) every year. The work that goes into these events cannot be understated and the team execute it flawlessly!

On Saturday evening Holy Cross church in Newton Ferrers was filled with the beautiful voices and harmonies of these gorgeous ladies! All funds raised from tickets and donations on the evening are very generously being given to our two incredible charities - The Mustard Tree and Star*. Judging by the smiling faces, loud applause and generosity of donations, everybody had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you ladies for thinking of us and our charities. The next opportunity to see the choir singing will be this coming Friday at Modbury Church. If you can get along to see them you really won’t be disappointed.

So after a few weeks recuperating and catching up with friends and family, we have now had news that our trusted protector and keeper for 44 days it is now back on UK soil. She is an amazing vessel who kept us sheltered and safe and she will always hold a very special place in our hearts! We’ve spent the last few weeks processing, reminiscing and sharing our incredible adventure with our nearest and dearest. And now it’s time to share some of the unseen bits with all of you so watch this space for photos and videos as well as news of an event to share our story I’m to maybe inspire some more of you to see how far you can push yourselves ……. you’d be amazed at what you can achieve!

Swipe to see the before and after photos of the Mayflower Crew! 📸
They’re looking a little more weathered (and a lot hairier) than when they set off. The real question is: who’s channelling Tom Hanks in Cast Away, and who’s pulling off a Wilson vibe? 🏝️😂

They've only gone and done it!! 🚣
🚣♂️ The Mayflower Crew has crossed the finish line!
⏰ 44 days, 4 hours, and 52 minutes
What an extraordinary display of determination and endurance! 🌊 From battling storms and 20-foot waves to enduring blistering heat, a marlin collision, and over 1 million strokes, this incredible team has conquered the Atlantic. 🌟
👏 A huge congratulations to the crew for achieving this monumental feat! 🏆
A message from the crew;
" hank you for sending us your love and best wishes over the seas - wishing us well and urging us on.
Every personal message, every social media post and comment, every share with a friend, every conversation has made a difference to the crew.
As you know, at times it has been very challenging and knowing that there is a tsunami of support behind us has been humbling, and has spurred us on.
Please know that!
But most importantly, thank you for the difference you have made to the Mustard Tree and star* scheme through the funds that have been raised. By spreading the word of the work done by both charities, people get to hear of what they do, the difference they make, and in turn, want to give.
We also wanted to let you know that we do not return unaltered.
For six weeks we have shared a tiny space, been stripped bare by the environment and circumstances, and in that time, not one cross word has been exchanged by the crew members (although we might have thought it at times! 🤣). The bonds that have been created will last a lifetime, perhaps several lifetimes.
I have some idea what might be at the source, as do some of you, but we have discovered two things that we wanted to share:
- that the human spirit will always prevail (this cuts both ways, so be careful what you wish for!) and,
- take great care of one another and the environment in which we live and love.
Thank you for being a part of this journey, we look forward to sharing it with you as we compete it tomorrow, and we also invite you to engage with some, or all, of what we shared above - you don’t need to row an ocean to make a difference to those around you. We did, but there’s probably an easier route!
