Home. Thank you Simon and tour crew for the short notice delivery. It’s great to have her back in Plymouth. When I left in August last year I simply had no idea if or when I would get her back here. I can’t wait to step onboard in a couple of weeks.

Gitana is back in U.K. waters!!
Well done Dad Mike and Kirsty for the work to offload her and tuck her into Gunwharf Quay in Portsmouth.
The vessel bringing Gitana back is now just south of swanage heading for the needles channel. She is due to dock in Portsmouth at 2200 this evening. Unloading Gitana at around 1630 tomorrow. The team have a night in Gunwharf quays booked in.

Gitana is almost in Portsmouth! Looks like she sailed past Plymouth overnight.
Weather is shaping up for her return leg to Plymouth.

Gitana loading to the vessel.
Gitana is homeward bound. You can track the ship here. Not sure if we will be able to see it once she leaves coastal waters though.

She is on her way to the ship in St Johns Harbour. I’m more nervous than I thought I would be!!!
Well it’s almost time to load Gitana onto a ship for her return to the U.K. I will be very pleased to see her safely back in UK waters in early June. Once she is back in Plumouth I’ll try to use her during the summer for some local sailing and then it back to the Yacht Haven for the winter. The jobs list never ends and the 4,500 miles we did last year has left me with a couple of jobs to do. Nathan Bone will be carrying out some cosmetic work as well as resolving the knock from the top of the rudder post. Then 2020 we will see what we do next. I hope to have a decent amount of time available for some trips. Hopefully I’ll have some photos of her onboard the ship and I’ll post the tracking details here for their passage from Antigua to Southampton.
