Devonport Air Cadets

Well done, on a cold windy Sunday you all did us proud.

Well done to the staff and cadets attending the rememberance parade at Devonport park today.

Well done to Sgt Haycock Cpls Wellbourne and Stewart on passing the NCOs course last weekend.

AT Week Fairbourne 17 A full week of walking climbing cycling kayaking.

Exercise PAGAN WARRIOR was conducted on Salisbury Plain over the period 12-17 Jul 16, for cadets within South West Region Air Cadets.

The camp primarily aimed to teach basic tactics to those cadets with an interest in attending one of the Cadet Forces Leadership Courses, such as Nescliffe or Frimley Park. The cadre were first taken through a phase of fieldcraft consolidation, before moving onto minor tactics, and eventually a number of field exercises culminating in the use of blank ammunition.

In total, 35 cadets exercised over the 6 days, from Hants & IoW Wing Air Cadets, Bristol and Gloucestershire Wing ATC, Plymouth & Cornwall Wing Air Cadets and Devon and Somerset. The feedback was unanimous in their wishes to see PAGAN WARRIOR make a return next year!

A huge well done from all the Directing Staff, for a massive effort over the week, under tough conditions and long days. Thanks also to our qualified Air Cadet Junior Leaders who played the willing role of Section Commanders!

NB. All exercises were conducted under the supervision of suitably trained staff members, and directed by a course qualified Exercise Conducting Officer. Approval for training was granted by HQAC.
