Plymouth Parent Carer Voice Plymouth Parent Carer Voice work to empower parents/SEN community in Plymouth, ensuring that the parent carers of children with disabilities have a voice.

Hi and Welcome to the Plymouth Parent Carer Voice (PPCV) Page. PPCV is the parent-run family forum for the Plymouth local authority area. Our purpose is to represent the needs and views of families with disabled children & young people (0-25yrs) in a range of ways, including working with the local authority and other organisations in our area to ensure parents voices are heard when services are being planned, implemented or changed. We also organise and promote a variety of information events, training and workshops for parents on a range of local & national issues that affect them. We hope that by increasing the number of parents involved in local parent participation we can help create an environment that will lead to better understanding, equality and co-operation between families and professionals. If you have already commented on the one sent out last week, please rest assured that๐Ÿ‘indicates that we have seen your comment and we are following it up/recording your response to feedback. Your comment hasn't been ignored or deleted.

Every fortnight, we will be asking parent carers a question on behalf of the Local Area Partnership (Plymouth City Council, Health, Education, Social Care and PPCV). The reason for the "Question of the fortnight" is to help improve and increase its understanding of decisions made from a family perspective.

Here is the first question the Local Area Partnership would like to put to you:

If you couldn't make our SEND Conference earlier this year, but would have liked to have visited the stalls, don't forget that some of the providers are already scheduled to join our Wednesday Midday Meet-up sessions. This gives you the opportunity to find out more and ask any questions about how the service could meet the needs of your family.

All presentations will be recorded, so if you can't make it, you can find out more by visiting the Members' Hub at a later date that is more convenient to you.

The Plymouth Annual SEND Survey is out now!

Plymouth Parent Carer Voice is working hard with the Plymouth Local Area SEND Partnership to make sure that your voice is heard strategically in the shaping of services across the SEND 0-25 sector.

We are asking for your input into this year's survey, which looks into the central services that parents, carers and children/young people use. We are asking for feedback based on the period between September 2025 and September 2026 (unless otherwise stated).

DICE is a 4-week free universal support for parents/carers of pre-teens and teens who are worried about parenting in the modern world, with the risks and challenges this presents. DICE provides families with information, advice and support to help them provide a safe and protective environment for their child or young person.
