Yesterday the lads hosted Admiral Mcbride 2nds at the cliff where the Athletic knew it was going to be a hard fought contest given 12 players were unavailable this weekend.

However that said it was Devon who took the lead through Jack Biscoe who was put through on goal sat the keeper down rounded him and slotted home 1-0

Devon then took the foot off the gas and looked abit lathargic which allowed Admiral to not only equalise but then take the lead

But just before the break Jamie Nicholls gambled and capitalised on a shot saved from Jack Biscoe as the keeper didnt keep hold of the ball Nicholls fired the ball into the roof of the net HT 2-2

After some chosen words by the management at half time the lads knew they had to go out and plah better football in the second half and thats exactly what they did.

Jack Biscoe again found himself with a yard of space and fired it into the side netting 3-2

As the game was reaching the final whistle Devon were desperately defending and a special shout out to Devons keeper Tom Bennett who made a string of unbelievable saves to keep Admiral out but with the final 15 seconds of the game Admiral had a free kick due to a handball where the ball was put into the area and an Admiral player threw a lazy leg at it which looped into the back of the net which the second the ball hit the net the referee blew the final whistle. FT 3-3

Tough one to take for the lads who put one hell of a shift in given players were playing out of position every player involved should be proud of the effort that was put in yesterday. The lads still came away with a point

Man of the match - Tom Bennett - tom was outstanding in goal yesterday and made multiple world class saves to keep Admiral out

Dick of the day - Liam Almond - Almond slapped the ball in the dying seconds with his hand that led to the free kick that resulted in the last kick equaliser. It happens to the best of us mate chin up and we go again

Yesterday saw the lads travel to butts park to play plym vale following lasts weeks result knowing that nothing but 3 points and a solid performance was imperative

And also facing our old manager in Kegan in the sticks for Plym Vale we knew we had to put in one hell of a performance

And thats exactly what Devon did
The boys played some lovely football some moves were straight off the back of training where the boys had been working hard in the week.

Devon dominated majority of the game and controlled large parts of it.
The back line in Adam Harry and Cairan were solid throughout the game

Special mention to Crewsy and Con who were superb from minute one to the final whistle

And the brilliant football started to pay off

Robbie Milne was played down the channel where he beat the full back and lashed it in the top corner half time 0-1

In the second half the lads continued as they started in the first half real pressing agressive front foot football after making a few changes from the bench with Plym Vales back line starting to tire the floodgates started to open

Jack biscoe was next to fire in devons 2nd and in quick succession Kam Dixon made it 3

Then devon were awarded a penalty captain Liam Almond stepped up and made no mistake in making it 4

Shortly after Kam doubled his tally and made it 5 before Jack Biscoe put the icing on the cake and made it 6

Full time 0-6
Every single Devon player put an unbelievable shift in and the management had nothing but praise for how the lads have bounced back.

Motm Aaron Crews - hard to pick this week as everyone was exceptional but Crewsy simply made everything tick today in the middle

All jokes aside tough one for Kegan Ashworth facing his own club he built with his brother was a huge decision for him to step away and not one he took lightly we understand his reasons why he needed to be back playing we all still love ya pal 💚
