After 1,5 years of hard work, we are sincerely sorry to inform you that we have had to make a tough decision to pull out from the OGR 2027.

This was not an easy decision to make, but due to the challenges faced during fundraising for the boat and the ever-tightening schedule, a decision had to be made.

Sometimes tough decisions have to be made, and this was truly one of them. Thank you to everyone who supported us and followed us throughout the journey.

It’s been a busy May, but on Monday, we had the honor of attending an event organized by the John Nurmisen Säätiö, where President Niinistö was awarded the Vuoden ponnistaja (“Effort of the Year”) recognition. At the same time, we had the opportunity to learn more about the state of the Baltic Sea.🌊✨

The afternoon culminated in a traditional church boat rowing session. Our coxswain was Markus Mustelin a legendary rower but also a Whitbread veteran (1985, 1989, 1993). He began around-the-world racing back in 1985 onboard Fazer Finland. Nearly 40 years after Aaro attended the OGR2023 onboard the same boat but she is nowadays known as Spirit of Helsinki.⛵️🤩

What an inspirational group of people and what an honor to be part of protecting the Baltic Sea and its heritage together with the John Nurminen Foundation!💙

We have enjoyed downwind now for a while which has kept spirits high after we had to motor the first 36 hours!
Moving up North as you can see from our clothing. Long gone are the shorts and T-shirts of the Caribbean🌊⛵️
