It's so easy to get caught up chasing numbers, isn't it.
Numbers on a scale
Numbers on a tape
Daily Calories
Your Strava times

But ask yourself, aren't you more than a number?

One of the biggest stumbling blocks for people, can actually be the above ( yes obviously these are important) people will set a number, not hit that number, then have a flood of emotions from failure to guilt.

But again, ask yourself truly how do I feel when I do the following

Workout regularly
Eat better
Dress better

I bet it will be emotions of happiness, fulfilment, boosted energy, a clearer mind, a better mindset, and much more.

These are the emotions YOU should focus on first.

Find your meaning, and it is so much more than just a number.

Why do MOST meal plans not work.

Now it isn't because the plan is great, with perfect marcos etc etc worked out for each client

It's psychology.

The client starts off following it brilliantly, then boom destruction hits. The client has a big meeting or something has happened with the kids and boom just like that. There are 3 days off track, and just like that, give up.

Trainer feels like they haven't done anything wrong as they have provided a client with a great plan.

What's really happened is the trainer hasn't listened, they just told the client here is a brilliant plan to follow, that's it.

What was really needed was for the trainer to actually listen, we do this by actually having a face to face consultation or at least a zoom meeting, we also ask for them to keep a diary for 2 weeks.

Then, after all this information, we then provide ideas for meals and lifestyle.

This also puts the client in control and gives them a sense of accountability and responsibility.

We work with the client and NOT against them.

This also goes for exercise.

Variation of the RDL

Using the belt squat available from

This is my favourite variation.

I like it as you can use a lot more weight, change the position, and use different handles depending on the user.

Also, as the weights touch the floor, this acts as a safety spotter.

A lot of the time, you'll see people going too low.
