Summer has well and truly kicked off across Plymouth Sound National Marine Park communities🌊☀️
Over the past few weeks we’ve been out and about enjoying a packed programme of community‑led events – from historic walk‑and‑talks and birdwatching, to coastal litter picks and more.
None of this happens without the passion and commitment of our brilliant local partners and volunteers. A huge thank you to Friends of Ernesettle Creek & Budshead Wood, Barne Barton and St Budeaux Community Forum , Mill Ford School and Nature Plymouth our friends at Green Communities for bringing people together to enjoy, explore and care for our blue and green spaces 🌿
It’s been great to see so many residents getting closer to nature, discovering local heritage and taking real, practical action for the environment.
Here’s to a summer with even more community spirit, curiosity and care across the UK’s first National Marine Park.

Plymouth’s much loved Tinside Lido - Plymouth Active has just been named Heritage Property of the Year, and we could not be prouder.
Fresh from a major renovation, this 1930s icon is now buzzing again, with new spaces for young people, community events and anyone who loves spending time by the water. It is all about keeping Tinside special while making it easier for more people to enjoy Plymouth Sound National Marine Park.

So many blue around at the moment - beautiful to see under the silky calm but best to avoid the long tentacles that can give a sting
