Training report - It was a hot one this week ⚽️ 🥵 MAP Kings Under 8’s 🤍🩵

This week training focused on more passing and movement and embedding what the boys demonstrated in the recent Looe Tournament. Working as a team, gets results and we are still proud of the boys for upping the game in the knock stages to go on to have a well deserved win and bring the plate home! 🏆

The boys began developing their corner routines, focusing on the correct positioning for attacking and defending corners, with attackers focusing on making runs into space and defenders marking opponents.

Future sessions will continue to build on these skills by increasing the level of pressure and encouraging quicker decision-making during match scenarios.

Our trainer of the week goes go #7 🏆

He showed enthusiasm and engagement throughout, with excellent energy levels regardless of the heat! His listening of the drills was evidenced in game play the end! Great work!

This week, all players have signed on for the 26/27 season and we are excited to see what the next chapter brings as we move in to the under 10s season! We are pleased to be welcoming two new players to the team and know that they will be an asset, as demonstrated at last week’s tournament! Up the Kings! 🩵🤍

What a day for the team!

The tournament didn’t get off to the start we had hoped for, but this showed exactly what football is all about. They dug deep when it mattered most for the knock out stages, and grew stronger with every game.

Every single player played their part, showing incredible determination, teamwork and what this can achieve. They believed in each other, kept fighting, and their performances got better and better as the tournament went on.

All that hard work paid off as they went on to win the final—a fantastic achievement that they thoroughly deserved.

We are so proud of every one of them. Not just for lifting the plate, but for the resilience, character, and team spirit they showed. A truly great bunch of boys 🩵🤍

Tuesday Night Friendly | Home Fixture ⚽💪

The boys turned up full of energy and put in an outstanding all-round performance from start to finish and got themselves a well deserved win!

With trialists making their first appearance, we were excited to see how they would fit in with the squad. They didn't disappoint, settling in brilliantly and putting in fantastic performances. Congratulations, boys—you've earned your places in the team! 👏

Player of the Match: #6 ⭐

Another superb performance from #6, who continues to prove just how important he is to this team. An absolute machine in defence, he gives everything and lets nothing get past him. His development has been outstanding, and he's going from strength to strength. Keep up the fantastic work! 💪🔵⚽

Liskeard Tournament 🏆⚽

With only four of our players available, we were fortunate to have two of the Map Kings Whites players helping us out today. Even then, we had no substitutes, meaning the boys faced the extra challenge of playing the entire tournament without any rest or fresh legs.

It didn’t take long for them to figure out how each other played, and the teamwork quickly fell into place. Their effort and determination were outstanding throughout the day, scoring lots of goals and conceding just one during the group stages.

The boys faced tough opposition in their final group game. All we asked was that they give their all, and they certainly did. They dominated the game and even surprised themselves with how well they played, carrying that momentum into the semi-finals where they knocked out another strong team, defending superbly keeping another clean sheet!

The final was an El Mapico showdown against Map Juniors! Every single one of the boys should be incredibly proud of their efforts today. They never stopped working, battling right to the very end and finishing as tournament runners-up.

Our #1 was celebrating his birthday today. What a brilliant way to spend it – playing football with friends and making memories. Thanks for bringing the cake 🎂

⚽️ Wednesdays training report ⚽️

The session focused on developing players’ passing and movement, speed, decision-making, and overall game awareness.

The session began with technical passing drills, encouraging players to move quickly after releasing the ball and create new passing angles. The emphasis was on receiving the ball with quality, making accurate passes, and being quick off the ball to support teammates.

Players then took part in a series of speed and agility drills designed to improve their fitness, footwork, reactions, and change of direction. These activities challenged players to work at high intensity while maintaining good technique and control.

Our #5 🏆

For showing excellent movement and passing, working hard in defence, and demonstrating real improvement throughout the session. They listened carefully to the coaches’ advice, maintained a positive attitude, and were a kind and supportive team player. 👏

Presentation Evening

It was fantastic to celebrate with the boys and recognise all of their success this season. They thoroughly deserved to be celebrated for their hard work, commitment, and efforts throughout the year.

A huge congratulations to all of our individual award winners! 👏🏆

As the season comes to an end, we also say farewell to two outstanding members of our team. As we move up to the U10 Junior League, the boys are unfortunately unable to continue with us as they cannot play up two age groups.

It has been an absolute pleasure having these boys as part of our team, and they will be greatly missed, along with their families. We wish you both the very best with your new teams and future football journeys. We know you'll continue to work hard and achieve great things.

Match Report

Another excellent performance and another win for the team as preparations continue for next season's move to 7-a-side football.

With only seven players available, every player had to complete the full match without the benefit of any substitutes or rest. Despite that challenge, the squad produced an outstanding display from start to finish, showing great determination, fitness, and commitment throughout.

The teamwork on show was particularly impressive, with the players moving the ball confidently and creating opportunities through some excellent passing football. Their understanding of each other continues to grow, and it was clear to see the progress being made as they adapt to the demands of the 7-a-side format.

Every player contributed to the victory, working hard for one another and maintaining a high standard throughout the game. It was a thoroughly deserved result and another positive step forward as the team continues to build towards next season.

A fantastic effort from all involved and great to get another win under the belt.

Man of the Match

Choosing a Man of the Match today was incredibly difficult, as every player put in an outstanding performance and could easily have taken the award.

Our #1, who continues to show just how important he is to this team. Time and time again he kept us in the game with a number of crucial saves, putting his body on the line for his teammates and demonstrating everything the coaches ask of him in training. His bravery, attitude and consistency were there for all to see. To top off a fantastic performance, he even saved a couple of penalties at the end for good measure!

Our #2, who was the driving force in the middle of the pitch throughout the game. He constantly carried the ball forward, causing problems for the opposition every time he got on the ball. Whether it was delivering outstanding crosses into the box or creating chances with his own efforts on goal, he was a constant threat. He also capped off his display with an absolute worldie from a long-range free kick that left everyone watching in awe.

Both players were exceptional today and played a huge part in another brilliant team performance.
