A strong performance against a very solid Horrabridge.

Defensively we were fantastic today. Players were tracking back with speed and determination, and covering each other well, preventing Horrabridge from getting many shots on goal.

The rain made the ball slippery but Remy handled everything confidently and was quick off her line to support the defence.

Going forward we created a number of chances and looked dangerous but unfortunately it wasnโ€™t our day. Horrabridge are a well organised team who will no doubt be pushing for the title this season. Their two goals were both very well taken.

A couple of players unable to make the start, meant an early reshuffle with players moving into different positions. Huge credit to the defence who adapted well and gave Remy very little work to do.

At the other end, we played some brilliant football and fired a number of shots on goal, but were denied by a familiar face ๐Ÿ˜… (our former keeper).

With players arriving in the second half, we switched things up again. The breakthrough eventually came from some brilliant pressing by Xavia, who won the ball and squared it perfectly for Rosie to slot home.

Despite further pressing from both sides, the score remained 1 nil.

A well fought but deserved win and a clean sheet too ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿงค

A totally battling performance against a team who were challenging for the top of the league last season.

The pitch wasnโ€™t doing anyone any favours with long grass and a slope, but the girls dug in, adapted, and more than matched the opposition with sheer effort, spirit and determination.

Disappointing to not come away with a point but plenty of positives going into our next match.

Our first away match of the season ends with a well earned win that every girl played a part in.

The effort was outstanding across the pitch. Every girl put in a cracking shift, making a massive contribution to a brilliant team performance.

We created numerous chances, moved the ball well and showed hunger, teamwork and communication from first whistle to last. The energy never dipped, and the collective drive was genuinely impressive.

It wasnโ€™t the greatest pitch, but it was a great win.

Well done, girls โ€” letโ€™s carry that momentum straight into Saturday ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Tough start to the new season today, going down 5โ€“1 to a strong MAP Jnrs side who finished 2nd in the top league last year.

With players missing through holidays, illness and surgery and others arriving late due to other commitments and a flat tyre, we started the game with only 9 players โ€” the girls showed huge bravery and work rate from start to finish.

Once we were back to full numbers, we matched MAP for long spells, especially in the first 20 minutes of the second half where our press forced mistakes and we played some great football.

Brilliant debuts from Darcie, Remy and Rosie, plus great support from Bea who cheered on her new teammates despite being unable to play.

Big thanks to Lola for making it earlier than expected, Liv D for stepping in goal, and Nick B for running the line on his debut even though his daughter couldnโ€™t play.

We finished the day with cake to celebrate Darcie & Emilyโ€™s birthdays ๐ŸŽ‰

Plenty of positives to take as we go again on Wednesday vs Granby.
