The young Colls hosted Yorkshire RTC yesterday, and with us missing key players through injury and illness leaving us with one sub we knew it would be tough, but it's very rare these lads let us down!
2 of the 3 previous meetings have gone in RTC's favour, but the most recent (this season) the young Colls won 5-1. But in this division one thing is for sure any team on their day can beat the other so we weren't going to take our opponents for granted!
The young Colls just proved too good through the whole game, despite being 5-0 up at halftime the lads weren't at their best but as a team we was ruthless.
Lewis adding to his season's tally with another great finish, Also Todd who is only playing his 5th game and is really starting to gel with the lads now won and stepped upto convert the penalty.
Isaac who missed last week's fixture meant business this week and scored for me the goal of the game with a deftly executed curling d**k.
Ollie after coming on from the bench took all of 5 Minutes to make an impact, unplayable when he is focused.
Theo stepped up with a wonderful solo finish which the keeper inadvertently spilled over the line but his work to that point deserved a bit of luck! He looks fitter and sharper than he's been arguably all season.
Ashton also got a goal his performance deserved, his desire and aggression is at times unmatched but when he reverts to his one touch passing and little give and go's there aren't many better.
The keepers deserve a special mention, Joe started and made a brave one on one save which impacted his knee but to that point he was flawless, Alf came on and although conceded, a great finish by the way, he made some smart saves and distributed the ball fantastically.
The defence did what they do consistently, gave a show of heart and desire and play in unity better than most, Jense after a tough game last week bounced back against a big physical winger and handled him brilliantly and used the ball very well when winning it, Alfie, well he does what he does week in week out, first and second ball winners, never loses a 50-50 and is a threat from every attacking set piece. Lastly James, an unsung hero back there, electric pace in recovery, his passing and distribution is fantastic, wins headers and compliments his partner Alfie superbly.
Obviously the MoM's went to Luke and Liam who in truth both ran the game, defensively and offensively both superb, they was involved in every goal at some stage, well deserved awards. All round a good win, on to next week 💙

The young Colls travelled to Halifax to face a team they had to this point NEVER beaten..... But after a great training session and smiles on the faces of all the lads the coaches had a feeling this was going to be the day we ended the jinx.
Halifax started the better in truth with some good football The young Colls struggled for a foothold in the game.
That was until Ashton stepped up after great work from Ollie to fire in a lovely strike for 1-0.
This woke up the young Colls, and they quickly added to their lead when the live wire forward Lewis rolled in for 2-0.
Midfield general Sam struggling with a knock, but it didn't show, he smashed home his second in 2 games for 3-0 to continue his great run of form.
Halifax then pulled one back to make it 3-1.
The young Colls kept playing their stuff and Ollie came up trumps next to make it 4-1 as again he proved to tricky to handle, adding to his tally as top scorer.
Number 5 was soon to follow, and it was Morgan with a powerful drive from distance, he fully deserved it too after a hit and miss season with niggling injuries. That was just the first half 🤯
The big test was to come in the second half as the coaches challenged the lads to manage the game, don't go chasing and they did exactly that, the home side had a couple of chances but nothing the young Colls couldn't deal with. The game ended 5-1. The back line of Jense, James, Liam and the keepers Alfie and Joe were immense and lead magnificently by inspirational skipper Alf.
Referees m.o.m went to Ashton with a performance that can only be explained as man against boys, he covered every inch of the pitch and was magnificent, also getting on the score sheet with a wonderful strike.
The coaches m.o.m went to Morgan who looks fit and added more energy to an already energetic midfield, his best performance for months (due to injuries) capped with a wonderful goal also.
Onto next week against a tough Guiseley side 💪🏼

The young Colls were in their worst run in the last couple of seasons and knew the physical challenge that awaited them at Bradford Park.
The lads started very slowly and it was probably expected after the recent poor run.
They battled away and came in at halftime at 2-2, one of the goals was also a dubious penalty, so a few stern words amongst the lads and they came out as a different side! Short sharp passing, lovely little give and go's and we completely dominated the second half. Romped home as 5-2 winners and in truth could and should have been more.
Ollie was the referees m.o.m and was fantastic, started on the bench and came on to absolutely destroy the opponents defence. Deserved more than the two he got to be honest.
Coaches m.o.m went to Charlie who is massive for this team absolutely covered every blade of grass and we was even afforded the luxury of being able to rest him after only recently returning from injury, the comment that sums him up was from a teammate that said and I quote "we are so much better when Charlie plays" bigger than any compliment I can give him! Top class both lads, special mentions to James who reads the game superbly, Seb aswell who didn't score and after early frustration really came back on and showed his true quality. Good win and onto next week against the league leaders.

Terrible day at the office yesterday... The less said the better, on our worst run in a couple of years..... Reaction as a team needed next week.....

Bad day at the office for the young Colls, Halifax wanted it more and pressed really well and in truth outworked the young Colls and thoroughly deserved the win.
Focus switched straight to next week and it's Chesterfield at home, the beauty of playing at this level is that the challenges keep coming thick and fast.
2 losses back to back for the first time this season, lets see how the lads react.
Referees mom went to skipper Alf, a leader to the core and produced a typical headed equaliser.
Opposition coaches mom went to Ashton for a very good industrious performance.
Shout out to Todd bagging his first goal for the club with a wonderful finish, to cap a very good performance.
We go again next week. Win together, Lose together!

The young Colls travelled to last season's champions UFCA in what was always going to be a competitive match.
UFCA were very good and fully deserved their 2-1 win.
There striker bagging a worldie to secure the home side all 3 points.
The young Colls never stopped plugging away and on another come away with something from the game having missed from the spot early on and conceded a soft goal for the opener, I think anything other than a home win today on today's performance alone would have been unjust.
MOM's and first was James at the back was solid all game, won all his individual battles and covered very well and had a very good game,
Lewis Up Top a handful for anyone ran the opposition ragged all game but we never created enough to warrant more than one goal, the one goal Lewis bagged.
As always we'll take alot away from this result and try to bounce back next week at home against Halifax.
Win as a team and learn as a team.
Bring on next week.
💪🏻

The young Colls returned after the festive period against a solid Bradford park side who are a non stop physical outfit.
The lads knew what was required of them and did exactly what we asked to a tee. We've been working on a lot of fitness this season and the lads are really reaping the rewards, I've yet to see us be out worked against anyone.
The lads had the lion's share of the match and came away as 4-0 winners and in truth it wasn't the most free flowing game as the visitors love to disrupt the game (in a good way) with their physical approach.
Goals came from Seb with a typical knuckle ball rocket from 30 yards, Blake with a beautiful free kick, and Lewis got 2 great strikers finishes with a towering header at the back post and a lovely finish into the corner after being released to a one on one.
There were some solid displays, not least Jensen who took one of the mom awards for winning every header, every one on one and was clever in his use of the ball.
The second mom award went to Luke who has been nothing short of incredible since signing for the club, the lad has everything, technical ability, heart, desire and is a joy to coach.
As always it's a team game and as a unit we were solid against a team who will upset the apple cart at some point this year, but managed to get the job done. On to the next one 💪🏼

Back to it for the lads. After 4 weeks off it's time to fully focus on the league. Currently 3rd in the league with a game in hand over 1st place and 2 games in hand over 2nd place. With just 2 points separating us and top position.
