🏏 2nd XI Match Report

💙💛 WELLS BATTLE BUT FALL 35 RUNS SHORT

It was a tough afternoon for the 2nd XI as Hemsworth went down by 35 runs to Allerton Bywater, but there were plenty of positives to take from the game.

Allerton Bywater batted first and posted a strong 217/6 from their 40 overs, with Daniel Alderson leading the way with an outstanding 121*.

The Wells battled hard with the ball, with Daniel Rollin taking 2/62 and Andy Briggs picking up 2/32. The bowling unit kept working hard throughout and ensured Hemsworth stayed in the contest.

Chasing 218, Hemsworth were eventually bowled out for 182, but there was plenty of fight right through the innings.

🌟 A FIRST HALF CENTURY FOR LUKE!

The standout moment for Hemsworth came from Luke Heritage, who produced a brilliant unbeaten 52* from just 29 balls, smashing 11 fours to register his first half century.

He was supported by Daniel Rollin (22) and Andy Briggs (22), while the lower order continued to battle until the final wicket.

Another strong Saturday for the 1st XI, as the Wells made it back-to-back wins with a convincing 7-wicket victory over Knottingley Town.

Hemsworth won the toss and elected to field, and the bowlers did the job, dismissing Knottingley for 125.
