Finally got my book, Never Mind The Politics, Here’s The Combat Base Scrapbook to a point that I’m happy with so while I’m waiting for final proofreading, does anyone want the preview edition on pdf? It’s only about 40 pages long, full book is about 320 but it gives an idea of what the finished book is like.
It’s basically a collection of the history of Combat Base Jiu Jitsu, early BJJ in the UK, observations, sketches, ramblings, challenging the status quo and other random s**t.
It is different to the layout of most other books as you’ll see, hence the scrapbook title. Hopefully it comes across as was intended, almost like we are just sat chatting over a beer or something and one story leads to another.

Anyone up for a 20th anniversary T-shirt? Combat Base turned 20 in January and intended to design a shirt. The whole Covid thing threw me off track but still thinking of having some printed if there is enough interest. What do you think?

No seminars happening at the moment but on the plus side, final proof reading to be done then my book will be ready to publish. Contents include the history of Combat Base, memories, general observations of BJJ and lots of random s**t. Got some decent feedback already from an earlier draft so can’t wait.

A little something I wrote the other day for our 20th year as Combat Base
Happy anniversary Combat Base, 20 years of providing an alternative. Damn, 20 years. Good opportunity to have a little reflection. As the new millennium kicked off we decided to start an entirely new team...
Another year of seminars done, hope everyone who attended one got something out of it. Interested to hear your views either way, good experiences and bad experiences alike. Post or pm if you prefer.
Going to be a busy year for us next year so rather than my usual half assed approach, gonna try and get some dates sorted now. Maybe try to do 1 seminar a month. Already got a couple of gyms interested in early next year so if you are wanting us over, let me know your preferred month.
Another Killing The Guard seminar delivered, this time at NGT in Runcorn, always fun catching up with the team there. One more seminar to give this month at then that’s another year of spreading the knowledge in the books.
