Although we should probably point out that ours involves considerably less 1980s chaos and considerably more Canva. 🤣

We’re looking for a Social Media Volunteer to join us at Role Play Lane! 💜

You might be studying social media or marketing and looking for some real-world experience. You might want to build your CV or portfolio. You might already have skills you’d love to put to good use. Or you might simply enjoy creating content and fancy trying something completely new.

We’d love someone who could help us capture and share everything that goes on at Role Play Lane, from photos and videos to Reels, graphics and social media posts.

It’s an opportunity to get creative, gain practical experience and help a local Not-for-Profit tell its story and reach more families.

👋 New here? Welcome to Role Play Lane!

We’ve had lots of new people joining us on our socials, so we thought Sunday was a good time to tell you a little bit about who we are and what we do. 💜

Role Play Lane is a not-for-profit role play centre and community hub in Llantwit Fardre, created to give children and families somewhere welcoming, inclusive and affordable to play, learn, create and spend time together.

At the heart of what we do is our little role play village, where children can use their imaginations, build confidence, develop communication and social skills and, most importantly, PLAY!

But there’s quite a lot more going on behind the scenes!

Alongside our regular role play sessions, we run ALN sessions, crafts, music, cookery, sensory activities, family events, activities for young people, parent support, school visits, parties and community projects. We also provide volunteering and work experience opportunities and work with lots of other local organisations and providers.

You’ll notice that some of our sessions are funded and some aren’t.

We regularly apply for grants and work with funders so that we can offer reduced-cost sessions (bills are not funded unfortunately), bring in specialist providers and give families access to activities and experiences that might otherwise be difficult to afford.

But funding isn’t guaranteed, and our non-funded sessions are just as important. When you book a regular role play session, buy something from our café, book a party or come along to one of our other activities, that income helps us pay our staff, rent and bills and keeps Role Play Lane here for the community.

So whether you’ve just discovered us, have been quietly following for a while, or have been coming through our doors for years, hello and welcome! 👋💜

We’ve got Role Play Sessions Monday to Saturday this week, with two chances to join us on Tuesday too! 🙌

🌈 Sensory lights on… let the fun begin! 💜

Our next ALN Session is coming up and we’ll have Role Play Lane ready for an afternoon of exploring, playing and sensory fun! ✨

We keep these sessions quieter with fewer people and soft music, then add in lots of lovely sensory items for children to discover along the way. 🥰

There’s no pressure and no judgement here. Come along, get stuck in, explore everything on offer and enjoy a fun afternoon together in a friendly, understanding space. 💜
