Glad to get home to give my ears a rest, got to love my crazy gang crew,
They remind me of a chaz and dave song.
Got more rabbit than Sainsbury's wish they give it rest π€£π€£ but seriously we always look forward to this crew as they really are great fun..
So we headed offshore and with such a strong tide and tons of seaweed we decided to move inshore..it was slow at times then on and off full on nuts with rods going off..
Got bitten clean off a few times with 100lb trace line from some big takes and runs, so could be big tope or porgies so might be worth putting the shark gear on the boat now for future all day trips.
So on the inshore marks today they had Small smoothounds Tope Bass dogfish bream and mackerel..
Back to 4hr trips for the next few days now so we will see what turns up.
Hopefully the seaweed will go soon.
But John John still won't catch a fish I bet.

Ok so our new sign is up as there has been some issues on where we pick up from..
We pick up at fishermans Dock outside the tackle shop almost opposite the old poole quay Hotel BH15 1HD
This is where every charter boat picks up from not just us, so go through the black framed gate and down the ramp when you see our boat CHOPSEA.
Sorry for any issues in the past we hope this now makes things clearer.

Been a lovely hot and busy time these last few weeks and managed to secure our first ever couple of new commercial contracts for us at Chopsea charters for the future coming up with the boat, once they checked us out all our documents were correct and in date, ie medical, commercial endorsement, basically if id not passed the medical I wouldn't be able to operate my self, boat coding all upto date, insurance the whole lot all passed for the clients.
So had the chance today to cool off without heading to the beach here in Dorset with 10s of thousands of people.
My idea of hell so no thanks.
So the wife found me asleep in the hot tub opps haha bloody lush it was too.
So the next 6 months we are looking to find a new boat, we want a more stable boat like the cats due the speed and stability, might even look at a few smaller cat new builds with outboards.
Who knows early days still.
Enjoy your weekend no fishing for us tomorrow due to the winds.

What a great afternoon 4hr trip that was , over 30 big bream for our clients as we do go that bit further for value for money.
Us at Chopsea charters often get asked 2 questions every trip and im sure other charter skippers get asked the same.
1, how deep are we here skip
2, you dont have a bag we could have by any chance for our fish.
Well from now on the answer to the 2nd question is yes we do have bags for you as we have invested at our own expense with no charge for our new bags.
We have found a company to supply us 100% biodegradable bags with our details on for you to swing your fish around on your departure of the boat.
So next time your out and catch some great fish like they have this afternoon with us, just ask for a bag.

Today the 9th of July we had another 4hr trip today.
Had on board 3 generations of one family and a father and 2 sons down from Staffordshire for a holiday and to celebrate the boys finishing there GCSEs.
Well another hot sunny one at sea.
We are deciding to travel a few miles further out for our 4hr trip's to find a bit deeper and cooler water as the water temperature is higher than usual and its taking a bit of affect on the fishing.
So being honest from the moment we leave the dock to anchor down to fish your looking at 45 mins - to 1 hour travel time each way so realistically 2hrs fishing before heading back.
But for us this is paying off as the fishing is a bit better, we cant get away from the tope at the moment grabbing the baits.
And the bream are snatching just as hard and robbing the baits at super speed.
But still plenty to take home to eat.
So basically our 4hr trips all weather dependent are catching tope and bream still.
Some mackerel here and there maybe 3 or 4 a trip so thats still pants.
So today's trip we had tope plenty of bream a couple of dogfish and lots of happy faces and smiles.
Just what we like as we try to go that little bit further to catch something worthwhile to take home, obviously not the Tope lol.
Also a lot of cuttlefish cling to the baits and when retrieving to refresh baits, some big tope also seen chasing the baits to the surface.
Got a busy week next week but do have some stronger winds approaching so hopefully it will all work out.

Wednesday 8th of July, A while back we were asked by a University to take some PHD students out during their last 8 weeks of University before completing their 7 years of studying.
So Today was that day.
They also asked to have some others on the boat to help catch the target fish.
So a phone call to some clients who are fascinated with Tope and got them aboard for today..
So we needed to target juvenile Tope and some adults.
Their task was to take swab samples from the skin, blood samples, weight and measurements, also to Ultrasound the ovaries
So with the swab test this was to see if they were pregnant, do the hormones show up detectable on the slime on the skin.
What a beautiful educational day this has been.
So we stopped off for a bit of mackerel for bait before heading offshore.
And my god did we have a lot of Tope juvenile and the adults.
Also a lot of big congers..

Thats the sunday 5th of July 2x 4hr trips.
Both whole boat charters for 2 separate families.
This mornings group was a belated fathers day trip as they couldn't get out with us on father's day as all our 4hr trip's and the evening trip was fully booked so they booked up for today a month or so ago.
This afternoons trip was a family that traveled from Wales to celebrate a 40th birthday on Chopsea.
The fishing wasn't great but the conditions were soooo much better than yesterday and the groups caught bream and congers, no dogfish today haha.
Both groups absolutely fantastic and such a good laugh was had by myself and chrissy with them all.
Ps dont think you have to book the whole boat as we will always take individuals.
That way we all get to meet new people and take away great memories.
