π¨ Broadstone Reserves - New Coaching Team π¨
The club is excited to announce our young coaching team taking the reigns for our new Reserves Team for the 26/27 season and beyond.
Blessings Chibamba comes with a wealth of experience coaching youth players in his role as PE teacher at St Aldhelm's Academy and most recently worked with Swanage Reserves before being offered the position as Reserves Manager for The Stones.
We welcome his enthusiasm for developing young players, ensuring we retain a competitive pathway for our youth teams into open age football.
Harry Richardson was previously a performance analyst at Poole Town and AFC Totton, while working towards his degree in Football Studies. Initially touted for the managerial role in our new U17s team, when it became apparent they unfortunately didn't have the players to sustain the season, the club acted swiftly to secure his services in the men's set-up.
Now working as assistant manager to Blessings, Harry has gotten to know the guys well over pre-season and has guided the brand new team to great results - and more importantly, performances - in their friendlies.
Division 6 is a tough league to get out of, with new teams entering at the bottom of the pyramid often being unknown quantities, but with Blessings and Harry at the wheel we are confident that our target of double promotions for The Stones is achievable πͺ

Some great football played in both games yesterday, with our First Team emerging triumphant against a quality "Vets" side consisting of many of our ex-players who reached the DPL just a few years ago.
With much of our opponents not having laced up since, fitness naturally prevailed despite our 12 man squad with a late goal for the Vets taking the sting out of the scoreline.
It was a pleasure welcoming so many familiar faces back to The Stones and we hope to see them again in the future π
Bournemouth Manor, having come from the Sunday Leagues last season, were a physically dominant side and well drilled but our new and youthful Reserves Team gave them a really great test and succumbed to 2 late goals in the end.
Lots of positives to take into both teams' first league games this Saturday.
Stay tuned π»

2 very interesting matches tomorrow π€
The First Team play Broadstone "Vets", consisting of a number of players from the Broadstone FC Men's team who reached the DPL back in 21/22 but sadly had to move to Poole Borough FC due to a lack of facilities and ground grading under The Stones...
A lot has changed since then, on and off the pitch, with Broadstone Football Club in a much stronger position to compete at the top of the county pyramid.
For now though, we look forward to welcoming back familiar faces in what is expected to be a good hearted and competitive final pre season game for the First Team.
In contrast, the Reserves side are playing a fellow newcomer to Dorset Division 6 in Bournemouth Manor.
The Manor have previously competed in Dorset's Sunday Division 1 and have now taken the step to Saturdays and we welcome them into the Saturday Leagues family for another great game and a chance to see where we are at for the season.

Broadstone 2 - 1 Poole Town FC U23s
Another great result for The Stones as our First Team beat Poole Town Football Club (Official) U23s at Canford Park last night.
Whilst they dominated possession, we limited their chances and when they did break through our make-shift keeper in Luke Pudney (usually a starting winger!) thwarted their attempts until the final 10 minutes when they finally found the net.
Confidence is sky high, however we know from experience how things can change when the league season starts; last seasons 2 losses in the first 2 games cost us the title, having only lost once in the league all season after that.
With only 1 more pre season game until the opening league fixture, we need to keep the train rolling and perform when the points matter...bring on 5th September β°

π¨ NEW MANAGEMENT π¨
We are really pleased to announce Ryan Taylor has agreed to take on the role of First Team Manager for the 26/27 season and beyond.
Ryan has been working with the team for the past few weeks and his passion and desire to help push us up the pyramid has shone through to all the lads who are buzzing to be playing for him this season.
With plenty of experience at both adult and youth level, and a sports psychology degree to boot, Ryan has bought into our long term vision and recognises the significant steps we have taken on and off the field in recent times - whilst still very much remaining a community focused club.
This is the start of a new and exciting chapter and we cant wait for the league season to start with the new gaffer at the helm π

Another strong performance πͺ
We're starting to see the product of a new face in the Broadstone dugout, high demands but high results π
Sturminster Marshall put up a good performance in the first 15 minutes, controlling a lot of the ball for a good spell...
But ultimately our defensive shape meant very few chances created and eventually the visitors were left frustrated and chasing shadows for the majority of the game.
Clever play across the pitch opened plenty of opportunities for The Stones and players were willing and able to convert consistently to win each half 3-0.
The gaffer now has a tough time on his hands narrowing down his squad with numerous players demanding, and deserving, a spot.
The gaffer? To be belatedly announced tomorrow...4 games, 4 wins since his appointment... the anticipation...

Div 2 Taster π
Tomorrow see's The Stones take on fellow Division 2 rivals .minstermarshallfc in what should be a good marker of where both teams are at for the start of the 26/27 season.
With this being our only game this weekend, plenty of opportunity for new players to show their mettle and highlights the competition for places in a stacked squad.
Come support the lads and enjoy what is expected to be a great game of football on a 3G surface β½
