Today we hosted an awesome bunch of veterans from the BOWRA Foundation on our 3 hour weapons in the woods session. Some amazing shooting, axe throwing and archery was witnessed!
🌒☀️ IT’S ECLIPSE DAY! ☀️🌒
So, of course, today’s Holiday Club had to have a SUN & PROJECTILE theme! 🎯🔥🏹
We started the day learning how to find our way using nothing but the sun. The children used shadow sticks to work out the cardinal points of our site 🧭 before putting their new skills to the test on a woodland treasure hunt, using their directions to solve the clues and find their way around Wildforge.
Then it was time for the projectiles! 🎯

With everything being so incredibly dry at the moment, James also demonstrated just how easily a fire can start using nothing more than a piece of glass and the sun. 🔥☀️ A really powerful way of showing the children why we have to be so careful with fire, litter and glass in the countryside during dry weather.
And there was only one way we could finish Eclipse Day…
We headed down to Hamworthy Park, had a dip in the sea 🌊 and watched the eclipse together! 🌒☀️
Adventure, science, navigation, fire safety, target sports and an eclipse at the beach… not a bad Wednesday at Holiday Club! 🏹🌲🔥🌊

🔥 What an incredible day with the team from Hydreco!
Last week we welcomed the fantastic Hydreco team to Adventure Pirate for an action-packed corporate team-building day, and what a day it was!
The team took on a round robin of:
🏹 Archery
🎯 Air Rifles
🪓 Axe Throwing
🌳 Tree Climbing
There was plenty of healthy competition, lots of laughs, and a few hidden talents discovered along the way! These activities aren’t just great fun, they build communication, trust, confidence and teamwork in a way that simply can’t be achieved in a meeting room.
To keep everyone fuelled, we served up freshly cooked sausage and bacon baps for brunch, with unlimited tea, coffee and cold drinks from our woodland shack throughout the day.
