Curriculum Manager and windsurf lover, Jake Williams reflects on his first year at Rockley College and is already looking forward to welcoming a new cohort of students this September.

“This past year has flown by! It’s amazing to look back at the year and think about the number of achievements, and just how many different experiences we’ve managed to squeeze in - whether that's trips, activities, or professional development opportunities. All the students have been fantastic and have embraced every challenge that has come with participating in an Outdoor course, including those who had little experience in the outdoors before starting with Rockley.

"Next year is already shaping up to be even bigger and better. There really aren’t many Further Education courses like Rockley College out there, and the effort all the staff put in to ensure all learners have a memorable and enjoyable experience with us, is just astounding. It’s more than a college course, it's a community of people with a shared interest and passion for the outdoors.”

As we reach the end of another academic year, Mark, who has been a teacher at Rockley College for nearly eight years, reflects on the best aspects of his job.

"Although much of my job role is inside the classroom with the students, the highlights for me are always the days when I get to see the students out of the classroom setting and showing the skills and knowledge that they have developed during their time with us. These include running school sessions at Bryanston School for the Dorset Leadership Academy, when working with Rockley staff at the Dorset School Games and when completing work experience at each of our centres."

Huge congratulations to Helena and Freya for passing their RYA Dinghy Instructor course last week. A perfect end to their first year at Rockley College!

End of term vibes! It’s been a great day at the New Forest Waterpark 🤪

It was lovely to welcome prospective students to our campus today and give them a taster of what Rockley College is all about, before they start in September.

It was a great opportunity for us to get to know them, for them to get to know us and for the students to get to know each other.

Lots of energy, fun and of course sunshine! A perfect end to a very hot week!☀️😎

A huge thank you to Rob Howlett, South West Regional Manager and Alice Lucy, Environmental Programmes Manager at the Royal Yachting Association for coming to deliver the Marine CSI (Coastal Science Investigations) to our year 1 students today.

A great fun and interactive course, aimed at raising awareness of our coastal ecosystems.
