ONLINE CLIENT TESTIMONIAL - 29KG OF LONG GAME
came to me nearly a year ago with a simple goal, he wanted to lose body fat and chase down a better physique.
We started off by reducing his calories slightly, introducing a resistance program and ensuring he was getting adequate steps per day. Over the first few months we dramatically reduced his body mass and got him down from 105kg to around 84kg. This is where we decided to add some mass to his frame, doubling it up as a longer diet break before delving deeper into a cut again ready for a big holiday.
We brought his bodyweight up to around 89kg over the course of 2-3 months. His main compounds climbed significantly and his understanding of tracking and training hard sky rocketed.
Finally we delved into this last phase of the diet, leaning him out considerably and revealing the muscle mass we had built during the small mass phase.

I started training with Dan because I’d always heard great things about his coaching, and honestly, he’s lived up to every bit of it. I mainly wanted help with the nutrition side of things because tracking macros genuinely felt like the end of the world to me — it would completely send my brain into a spiral. Starting with Dan back in January was definitely a huge adjustment. I was so used to eating what I wanted, when I wanted, and over time I realised that if I truly wanted to see results, something had to change.
I’d always been fairly clued up in the gym when it came to training, but working with Dan made me realise there was still so much more to learn. Usually I would lead this with a ‘write up’ but feel words don’t need my input:
I honestly don’t think I can fully put into words how much Dan has helped me over the last 15 months. Losing 9kg is something I’m incredibly proud of, but this journey has been about so much more than just the number on the scales.
It’s been a very busy and sometimes stressful 15 months — holidays, moving house, starting a new school year, celebrations, Christmas, and everything else life throws at you — and Dan has supported me through every single stage of it. No matter what was going on, he always approached things with so much understanding, patience and empathy. He never made me feel guilty for enjoying life or hitting difficult periods, and instead helped me learn how to navigate it all in a realistic and sustainable way.
One of the biggest things Dan has taught me is balance. I’ve learned how to plan ahead and think forward so that I can still enjoy meals out, celebrations and special occasions without feeling like I’ve “failed” or need to start again on Monday. That mindset shift alone has been life changing.
I’ve always loved fast-paced training styles like CrossFit, so moving into a different style of training was outside of my comfort zone at first, but I’ve genuinely loved it. Seeing the physical changes, getting stronger, improving my shape and understanding the benefits of structured training has been amazing.
What makes Dan stand out is that he genuinely cares. He isn’t just a PT - he’s a friend and therapist too 😂 He knows when to push you, when to reassure you, and how to keep you focused without ever making the process miserable. A few of my friends have now signed up with him too, and every single one of them has said the same thing about how kind, supportive and understanding he is.
I’m so excited for the next phase of my journey — bringing on the reverse diet and maintenance phase (and eating more food 😂). For the first time, this feels sustainable and like a lifestyle I can actually maintain long term, and that’s completely down to Dan and the support he’s given me throughout this whole process.
