WORK LIFE BALANCE

I’m the worst for having no work life balance at all🙃 last night was my first evening off since I started online coaching in March and even then I couldnt justify taking the whole day off, I just LOVE growing my business and helping my team!

But I needed time away from work to celebrate my own successes and to relax for the night. And I did. I had an absolute ball with those closest to me💖

Thankfully I have the best clients who know how hard I work and told me to enjoy my night without worrying about them🤣

The same principle can be applied to your fitness/lifestyle journey. You are allowed to enjoy yourself without feeling guilty, you can celebrate your successes and make memories with your loved ones.

I hate when my clients ask for permission to enjoy a birthday weekend? Like DUHHH of course. We just know that check in may show an increased number on the scale. But who cares?

You enjoyed your celebration and got straight back to it when you were back. Thats what a LIFESTYLE approach is. It works around your lifestyle.

So make sure you’re taking time out for yourself from time to time and allow yourself to enjoy events guilt free, you deserve it!

Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (NEAT)

Lets simplify that..
NEAT essentially is the amount of calories you burn from daily tasks that isn’t planned exercise.

The easiest way to up your NEAT is a step goal, which is why fitness watches have become so popular!

These watches are amazing for tracking our NEAT and the hourly reminders to get up and move are perfect, but lets not become over reliant on them.

“How many calories should I burn on a 30 min walk?”
“How many calories should I burn in a training session?”
“How many calories..”

STOP.

You’re overcomplicating it.

It doesn’t matter how many calories your watch says. They’re inaccurate anyway.

Focus on how many steps you done in a 30 mins walk, if you’re walking faster and getting more steps in the same time then you’re burning more.

Upping to a 40 min walk is progress.

Not feeling as tired is progress.

Parking further away and walking to shops is progress.

Cleaning the house and not being out of breath is progress.

Taking stairs instead of a lift is progress.

Stop worrying about the exact numbers and just get up and DO MORE.

It DOESNT need to be complicated. Who cares how good your one hour gym session is if you’re sat on your arse for the other 23 hours of the day.

CLIENT TRANSFORMATION

Then (56kg) ➡️ Now (54kg)

Tylers been working with me for the past 8 weeks and her results so far are incredible.

She came to me wanting to get her abs back and be confident again without having to have an overly restrictive lifestyle- she still wanted to have fun. She had very little body fat to lose and so we got to work on a complete body recomp.

While shes only lost 2kg on the scales, her body is entirelyyyy different.

Body fat is down, abs are POPPING and her glues are growing🍑

We’re spending the next few weeks improving this physique even more before getting her on a growing phase as soon as gyms reopen, watch this space👀

She’s achieved this physique with lots of hard work, plenty of good food/take aways and even more alcohol.. I wish I was joking🥴🤣

Depth is slowly getting there, 70kgx4💪🏼

Squat is by far my weakest and least favourite but we working on it!

Weight hasn’t gone up but I’m still making progress... but how?

Progress is more than just chucking weight on the bar and getting reps done as quickly as possible.

A few weeks ago I was squatting 70kg for 4 but struggled to get my full range of motion. Instead of being an ‘ego lifter’ and repping out half reps with s**t technique, I lowered the weight back down to 60kg with the focus on hitting depth for every rep with proper form. Once that was nailed I slowly worked my way back up to 70kg making sure I still hit the same depth with good form.

I’m now back squatting the same weight as I was several weeks ago but my technique, depth and speed is much more controlled so therefore I have made progress.

Weight is just one way that you can progress a lift, upping reps, upping sets, lowering rest, using 1 1/2 reps and changing tempos are just a few ways you can progress lifts without changing the weight at all.

In just four weeks this beautiful girl has lost 2kg. Now at first you may not think 2kg is that much but looking at the photos you can REALLY see the changes!!

She’s also lost over 16cm on her chest, waist and hips alone😱

How did we achieve this?
Realistic goals, implementing daily habits, calorie counting and training 4 times a week.

She’s enjoyed good food with lots of chocolate and tasty snacks. We just controlled our portions and counted calories👏🏼

Hard work really does pay off and these results just go to show you dont need to be 100% all of the time to see results.

Appreciating your own value💫

It’s so easy to undervalue yourself, how you look, what you do for others and how you feel about yourself. You are worth every penny/thought you believe about yourself and unless you truly value yourself no one else will value you.

I’m guilty of this myself. I was massively underselling my services and felt so guilty about upping my prices but I work so hard to give the best possible service, I go above and beyond for every single one of my clients. I do extra courses to ensure my knowledge continues to improve and I’m forever upgrading client content and investing in my business. Today I finally saw my own worth (thanks to a nudge from and ) and upped my prices to a realistic bench mark for the services I provide!

I spoke to my clients before putting the prices up and every single client has said it’s about time I put them up because the service they receive is worth every penny. I’m so grateful to have the support I have from my clients, they really are the best💖

So take some time out to think about how you value yourself. Do you constantly talk down about yourself and your achievements or do you boast about how well you’ve done and how far you’ve come. You have every right to be happy for who you are and valuing yourself is the best thing you can do if you want to continue to improve!

CLIENT TRANSFORMATION

Jamie’s transformation is insane. I previously posted her transformation but since then she’s just kept progressing.

She hasn’t let lockdown control her, instead shes used it to her advantage. While raising a family of her own shes only gone and lost 10.4kg and we still got work to do💪🏼

Theres nothing for me to say other than WOW. Shes ticked every box, every day with no complaints. Any time I’ve made changes to the plan shes just got on and done it, upped the step goal and she smashes it. Up the water intake and she smashes it. There really is nothing this girl cant do. Wonder woman💪🏼

She hit a point where she felt like that was it, she couldnt go on anymore living the lifestyle she was living. She wanted to be healthier and more active to be an example to her children and my god is she the best example!! Every single day shes out in the fresh air with her children, being active and able to play with her children all day.

What more could you want than to be healthy enough to play with your children without getting breathless and being able to enjoy the crucial time you have with them in lockdown.

Business Update

Spaces on my waiting list for personal training are almost full. I have a few spaces left and waiting on a response from 3 people so once spaces fill I will be closing my books.

Online coaching however is booming so coaching will always be an option.

Hoping I’ll be opening in the near future since I’m a private studio and not a commercial gym so I will keep you all updated. I’ve also completed a COVID return to work certificate so will be taking all necessary measures to ensure client safety.

The KCM Fitness Studio is looking so much better than when you all last seen it. I cant wait to reopen🥰

I also want to thank all my existing and new clients for choosing me as your coach and continuing to support me through this pandemic. I appreciate every one of you💙

CLIENT TRANSFORMATION

78kg➡️67.9kg
10.1kg total loss so far

This beauty was already experienced in the training aspect of things but lacked motivation after a knee injury.

While she knew what she needed to do, she just needed someone behind her to believe in her and give her the motivation she needs, so thats where I came in.

We set up some daily routines to keep productivity high, focused on nailing the basics and got a consistent plan in place working on progressive overload. Obviously everything was catered to enhancing her knee rehab that she is undergoing and 9 weeks later shes lost over 10kg👏🏼👏🏼

We’ve got a little more work to do to shift some extra body fat and really enhance her body composition before gyms reopen and then we’re getting a serious training plan in place to shift some weight💪🏼

What started off as just wanting to ‘lose weight’ has now turned into a complete mind shift change that is working so well to the point that we have some performance goals in place and potentially a sprint triathlon in the pipeline👀 this girl just keeps working and working and I couldn’t be more proud of her!
