Gilfach Goch RFC Mini and Junior Rams

💙🏉💛 U10s - TON FEST 💛🏉💙

We started the season at Tonfest and we were looking forward to getting underway against a few of our local teams 🔥

We started strong and played much as we did last year with strong runs and solid defence 💪

As the games progressed we seemed to hit a wall and not have much answer to some well organised attacks that put us on the backfoot. Our defence was caught being to narrow and allowing in some easy tries 🏉

The boys took the losses and we learned from them and we talked about what was needed and how they usually play with spreading the ball and linespeed in defence

The boys then pulled up their socks and played as the team we are used to with hard hits and big runs 🏃‍♂️ 🔥

Each game we progressed on this and the boys got the fire in the bellies lit again. They made some brilliant defensive plays and getting turnovers, going forward with ball in hand with team and individual efforts

Overall a good bay with some points to work on over the weeks in training 💪 👌

💙🏉 💛Aberdare Rugby Festival – GGRFC U12s

What a fantastic day of rugby at Aberdare today to kick off the season! 🏉👏💪

The festival brought together players, coaches, families and supporters for a brilliant day filled with rugby, teamwork, sportsmanship and plenty of smiles. With new players on board the boys gave it their all. 👏

It was great to see the young players take to the pitch, showing off their skills, enthusiasm and determination. From great tries and tackles to some brilliant passing and teamwork, there were plenty of memorable moments throughout the day.

A huge thank you to Aberdare RFC for hosting such a fantastic festival and to all the clubs, coaches, referees, volunteers and parents who helped make the day such a success. 🤩

Most importantly, well done to all the players who represented their clubs with pride and gave it their all on the pitch. Days like today are what grassroots rugby is all about — making friends, developing skills and enjoying the game. 🥰

A brilliant day, fantastic rugby and memories to last a long time!

Today was a very special day for our Gilfach Goch U7s as our players played their first ever tournament together! 🏉💙💛
What a way to start! They all had an absolutely amazing time and played some fantastic rugby from start to finish. The effort, teamwork, determination and smiles on their faces were brilliant to see! 🥰🏉
For some of our players it was their first experience of tournament rugby, and they took it all in their stride. They supported each other, worked together and most importantly had FUN! 💙💛
A huge well done to every single one of our players — you should all be so proud of yourselves! 👏🏼🏉
And a massive thank you to Tonfest for putting on such a brilliant tournament, and to all the parents, families and supporters who came along to cheer our team on. 💙💛

What a fantastic day for the boys at Ton Fest! The boys played some really brilliant tag rugby from start to finish. They showed great energy, teamwork and enthusiasm. Most importantly they enjoyed themselves, supported each other and showed great sportsmanship throughout the day.
A massive well done boys you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves! 👏

First game back of the season for our U13s Gilfach Goch… and what a way to start 💥🏉

We were a few players down, so it was 12‑aside on a full field — a massive shift for anyone — but these boys didn’t let that stop them for a second. The work rate, the effort, the engine… unreal 👏🔥

Our attack was on fire. Passing sharper than previous seasons, everyone getting touches, everyone involved, and tries coming from all over the team. Already showing they’re playing as a unit, not individuals — and it’s only game one 💛

A huge shoutout to Tarian, picked as Player of the Match by the opposition for his direct running, never‑give‑up attitude, and cracking line‑out throws 🙌

And Man of Steel goes to Ioan for his excellent running and bagging his first ever tries — legs like telescopes, honestly 🏃‍♂️💨

We won’t plaster the score everywhere… but let’s just say the boys absolutely dominated Treorchy in the friendliest, most respectful way possible — and they deserve every bit of praise. They nulled a team for the first time ever, and that’s something to be proud of 🥹

Today our U9s played their first tackling games of the season! 💥🏉

After playing tag rugby last season, stepping up to tackling is a big step, and every single member of the team did absolutely amazing! 💪🔥

What a fantastic way to kick off the season! The team showed plenty of bravery, determination and teamwork, getting stuck into every game and giving it their all. 💪🔥

There were some cracking tackles, great runs, brilliant tries and, most importantly, plenty of smiles! 👏

A huge well done to every single one of you — you should all be so proud of yourselves! 💙💛
