He will hate this fuss but the club would like to give its thanks and praise to Craig ‘Hoppy’ Hopkins who at the weekend completed his 200th match in the dugout for the clubs 1st team 💪

In his 1st team manager role at the club Hoppy has helped take the club to its highest levels in which the club have operated in the 2nd tier of Welsh Football for 3 of the last 5 years.

Hoppy has no budget luxury of other managers at these levels and people will never understand the graft he puts in to bring players to this club with no 💰 involved.

Could many of his fellow managers operate the same way and keep a team competitive in the Novira Cymru South?? We doubt it..

Been some yellows and a few red cards along the way but who’s counting 😂

Big thank you from us all at the club Hop for all the dedication, graft and effort you’ve put into the club since 2020 on a voluntary basis 👏

Afan Lido 0-0 Ynyshir Albions

Stalemate in a match dominated by red cards. Neither team really got going, we had the better chances to win the match but still a great point.

Cory Morgan had the best of the 1st half chances, taking a sublime 1st touch and just overrunning his 2nd allowing the home keeper to smoother his effort.

Dion Facey came closest to scoring all afternoon when his header was cleared off the line. Dion would soon be sent off for two yellow cards that put the match to 10 v 10 after Lidos earlier red card.

In the 2nd half chances were again hard to come by, Adam Cartwright lob just landed the wrong side of the crossbar and Joseff Haig who was superb all afternoon low drive beat the keeper but went the wrong side of the post.

Lido were reduced to 9 late on, Ynyshir pushed hard for a winner and so nearly won it at the death, with Haigy meeting Cole Bakers corner heading agonisingly wide.

Again a brilliant effort from our boys, Haigy, Rhys Williams, Cory Morgan, Kai Crossley all superb as was our skipper Jacob Isaacs (sponsored by Concept) playing through the pain barrier, our chosen Ollie James Menswear & Elevens Beauty MOTM 🍾

4 points from 6 over two away league matches over the Bank Holiday weekend. Well done lads and thank you for all the graft you’ve put in 👏

No match Saturday for the 1st team who will return Saturday 12th away at Carmarthen Town.

A massive result for us last night away from home against a much fancied Newport side.

Each to the man the boys were superb, defended brilliantly as a team and really got at the home side creating plenty of chances.

The winning goal came just after the hour, a brilliant run into the box from Chrissy Bethell saw his shot saved only for Dion Facey to react quickest and finish on the rebound 🔥

Very proud of the efforts of you all out there, well done men 👏

Again on such a collective performance MOTM could have been just about anyone.

The Hub will offer around 100m² of flexible open-plan space, with tables and seating, a refreshments servery, toilet/sanitary facilities, large screen/projector facilities and accessible access via a lift.
