A brilliant few weeks of with . After some great training with the , Rory was raring to go. Billy a bit more tentative but after some fun days at and Beaulieu River SC, both were excited to join the huge fleet at the Nationals. We were also a little tentative… but the fleet couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. Entering the ‘coached regatta fleet’ was perfect for them and they both had huge fun with friends old and new. With a mixture of some training sessions, racing and organised fun when conditions weren’t favourable, it was a great set up. Rory got amongst the front of the fleet a few times and ended up 8th overall in their fun regatta. Billy really got into it too, ending up 20th and winning an award for the most improved sailor in the fleet. Very proud of them both but mainly just so happy to see them having fun in the water still! Very grateful to the volunteers who make this happen and we’re all excited to slowly get more involved.
