And today we made a mini pony out of a pony 🤣
Bet Brittney felt LOADS better after losing all that hair!
The grass will also appreciate less white rolling areas too - our hill is currently full of random hairy rolling spots!

Beautiful weather on Skye the last few weeks!
Here’s a photo of Clint making the most of the rays having found himself the muddiest patch possible to lie down and take a snooze 😴 needless to say, he is grey no more!

🥳 Happy new year one and all! 🥳

Apologies for the lack of activity on here the last 12 months! We’ve had our hands very much full of babies, horses and anything/everything else that’s needed juggling! After a year of taking it easy lapping up as many baby cuddles as possible with our newest future recruit, we are back in the saddle so to speak, and ready to take on 2026 - it’s the year of the horse after all 😉

Horses don’t connect with us through words, equipment, or techniques — they connect through the limbic system, the part of the brain responsible for emotion, safety, and survival. This connection is known as limbic resonance: a nonverbal, nervous-system-to-nervous-system syncing that allows one individual’s emotional state to influence another’s.

Humans experience limbic resonance through empathy, bonding, and feeling “in sync” with others. Horses, as highly sensitive prey animals, have evolved this ability to an exceptional level. They constantly read subtle signals like breathing, muscle tension, posture, and emotional energy to assess safety.

Because of this, horses respond to how we feel, not what we say. When a person is anxious, tense, or overwhelmed, the horse senses it immediately. When a person slows their breathing, softens their body, and becomes present, the horse feels safer and mirrors that calm.

This is why equine-assisted therapy is so powerful. Horses provide immediate, honest feedback about a person’s internal state, helping clients become aware of their emotions, regulate their nervous system, and experience calm connection in real time. As safety increases, trust, confidence, and emotional regulation naturally follow — without force or judgment.

In short, horses help people heal not by doing anything to them, but by meeting them exactly where they are and offering regulation through connection ❤️
