You know you should be strength training…
But every time you walk into the gym, you feel completely lost.
Walking into a gym full of people who look like they know exactly what they're doing…
…and thinking:
“I haven't got a clue what I'm doing here.”
Maybe you've been telling yourself you should start strength training.
Maybe you've tried before but never really knew what you were supposed to be doing.
Or maybe you think you need to spend hours in the gym to get results 🤷♂️
You don't.
Strength training can be one of the most valuable things you do for your body as you get older — and it isn't just about building muscle 💪
Here are 3 reasons why I think it's worth making it part of your weekly routine:
1️⃣ Staying strong and independent as you get older
We naturally lose muscle and strength as we age.
The goal isn't to become a bodybuilder.
It's being strong enough to carry the shopping, get up and down from the floor, climb the stairs, pick things up, play with your kids or grandkids and generally feel capable in your own body.
The stronger you are now, the more you're investing in the person you'll be 10, 20 or 30 years from now.
2️⃣ Feeling better day to day
Strength training isn't just about what happens in the gym.
Regular exercise can help support your physical health, sleep, mood and overall energy levels.
And there's something pretty powerful about finishing a workout knowing:
“I did something today that was good for me.”
Especially when life is busy and it's easy to put yourself at the bottom of the list.
3️⃣ Feeling more confident in your body
Getting stronger and building muscle can change the way your body looks.
But more importantly, it can change how you feel in your body.
Feeling more comfortable in your clothes.
Feeling more confident walking into a gym.
Looking in the mirror and actually being happier with what you see.
And having the confidence to do things without constantly worrying about how your body looks.
And here's the thing…
You don't need to train 6 days a week to get these benefits.
You don't need complicated workouts.
You don't need to spend hours in the gym.
You need a simple plan 👊
