What a start to the season.
Not the result we wanted but can’t say how proud I am as a coach of the Ladies.

Sports Ladies 2-5 Amlwch Ladies

This game had everything goals, tackles and a pen.
The Sports Ladies in their first league game took on Amwlch at the Meadows in a very competitive game.

Sports started strong and scored in the second minute. We continued to push forward but this opened up the pitch for Amlwch to counter and score on the 35th min.
That seen the first half end and a very good second half came next.
5 goals came in the second half unfortunately for Sports Amlwch were the more clinical out the two teams.

We will dust ourselves off and work in training over the next two weeks ready for our Welsh Cup game.

A frustrating afternoon for Sports as we come away with nothing from a game we should have got more from.

Sports started brightly and played some excellent football in the opening stages. The pressure paid off when Scott Stewart’s corner found Ashley Castle, who produced a great close-range volley to put us 1-0 up. 🔥

We had chances to extend our lead, but the Llanfairfechan goalkeeper pulled off some outstanding saves to keep the visitors in it.

Llanfairfechan managed to turn the game around, scoring an equaliser before taking the lead from the penalty spot just before half-time.

We came out flying after the break and deservedly got ourselves back level. Some fantastic link-up play between two of our young lads saw Alfie Griffiths provide a brilliant assist for Ashley Castle, who finished it off to complete his brace. 👏⚽️

We then took the lead shortly afterwards when Scott Stewart picked out Kyle Lally in the box, with Kyle making no mistake from close range to put us 3-2 ahead. 💪

Unfortunately, we took our foot off the gas and allowed Llanfairfechan back into the game. They took full advantage, scoring three late goals to turn it around and leave us beaten 3-5.

A tough one to take, especially after the quality of football we produced for large parts of the game, but there are plenty of positives to take.

Pitches all cut and lined this week ready for the weekend games, thanks to Sion , Dave , Brooks and Mikey.

Very busy weekend of football at the Meadows.

Caffe is open for sit down and takeaway Saturday and takeaway only Sunday.

Little crowd funder update we are now very close to the supporters needed (100) to access the match funding from Sports Wales.

We still have 35 seats left to sponsor and 9 pitchside sponsor boards left

Seats are £30 each and Boards are £250 for 2 years.

Big thank you to everyone that has donated so far ever £1 has made a massive difference.

Hopefully with 30 days still left we can get to the magical 10k total that unlocks all the match funding. This in turn will help us start the work needed on reconnection and refurbishment of the lower field toilets and changing facilities.
