Honours board update 🏏

Over the past couple of weeks we have had a couple more entries to the batting and bowling honours boards.

Sai Kundooru makes his second appearance on the batting honours board this season with a half century in the 2nd team match against Rufford. Jamie Hogarth gets onto the bowling honours board taking 5-17 with a brilliant display of fast bowling in the 1st team match against Thornton Cleveleys.

With the last matches of the season coming up this weekend, hopefully the weather holds off and we get more entrants onto both boards and finish the season strong 👊

Gameweek 21 Results 🏏

The first team finished their last home game of the season with a 70 run victory over Thornton Cleveleys. Batting first we put on 161 with Ravi top scoring with 45 adding to an impressive tally of runs so far this season. With the ball Ravi continued his great form taking another 4 wickets for the 2nd week in a row. From the other end Jamie Hogarth delivered a deadly spell of fast bowling taking 5-17 from his 12 overs and helped wrap up the victory.

It was a tough day for the 2nd team away at Standish. Batting first we made 100-8 with Sai Kundooru top scoring 29. Unfortunately it wouldn’t be enough with Standish chasing the score 3 wickets down. It was a great effort from everyone who played even though the result didn’t go our way. Also thank you to Standish for providing teas and showing great hospitality as always 👏

Gameweek 20 Results 🏏

It was a tough weekend for both teams with the 1st and 2nds suffering defeat in rain affected games.

The 1st team were on the road away at Euxton with the match being reduced to 39 overs. Euxton batted first and scored 221-7 with Ravi being the pick of the bowlers taking 4-48. In reply we struggled with the bat and lost wickets at regular intervals and eventually getting bowled out for 82.

The 2nd team played a T20 vs Rufford batting first we scored 108-8 from our 20 overs. Sai top scored with 52 and gets his name on the honours board again. Unfortunately it wouldn’t be enough as Rufford chased the total down and won by 6 wickets.

With only a couple of weeks left of the season theirs still plenty to play for! We go again next week and both teams look to bounce back 👊

Gameweek 19 Results 🏏

Both teams were in action this past weekend as we head towards the business end of the season.

The 1st team were at home vs Standish and were put into bat first. After losing some early wickets Jamie Hogarth counter attacked scoring 78 off 69 balls. A quick 24 from the skipper Andy down the order took us upto 182 at the end of our innings. Unfortunately it wouldn’t be enough for us as Standish knocked off the runs just 1 wicket down.

The 2nd team picked up a big win on the road against St Anne’s down at South Shore. Bowling first we restricted St Anne’s to 132-7 off their 40 overs with the wickets being shared around between the bowlers. The batters then took the game to St Anne’s chasing the runs down in just 26 overs with Rajith Laksh*tha continuing his great season with 33*. Sai Kundooru 27 and Suraj Gavarasana 20* backed him up and helped secure a 6 wicket victory.

Darts Night this Saturday 🎯

Come and join us in the RSC after the 1st team’s game against Standish.

With the 2nds playing just down the road at South Shore, it’s the perfect chance for everyone to come together, have a laugh, and enjoy a great night.

The 1sts are still in a strong position in the league and pushing for promotion — so come and get behind the lads at the game, then stick around for darts and drinks in the bar afterwards.

Bring your arrows and get involved! Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Gameweek 18 Results 🏏

Another tough weekend for the club results wise with both teams suffering losses.

The 1st team lost by 1 wicket to Walton le Dale in a close game down at Bush Lane. Batting first we put on 235 with Vamsi scoring another half century this season top scoring with 61. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough as WLD chased the total down with 1 wicket and 7 balls to spare.

The 2nds had a tough day on the road away to Withnell Fold. Batting first we could only get to 96 after getting off to a flying start in the first few overs. It was always going to be a tough score to defend and Withnell knocked it off just 3 wickets down.
