Turbary House Coarse Fishery

Well we've reached the end of another magnificent year, full of excited people catching some really magnificent fish. We have been so, so busy, which is brilliant, that more and more people are getting into the world of angling. 🎣

We have done a lot of work with the Angling Trust, working with local schools, promoting angling to the youngsters, encouraging them to take up the hobby and reap the many benefits from being outdoors.

We have also coached some home educated kids regularly throughout the year which has been absolutely incredible. Seeing them become more confident, patient, focused and skilled. The calming, relaxed nature of angling has really made a difference to their lives in so many ways.

We have also been able to help 385 kids start fishing by supplying them with recycled fishing gear via our Tackle Donation Scheme.

Our coaches/volunteers have been absolutely incredible too, helping us teach the art of angling to children from over 20 local schools.
They are the backbone of Top Cast Angling and we are deeply grateful for their loyalty, support and hard work.

2024 has been so fantastic, we cannot wait to see what 2025 has in store for us. 😀

There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding our prices of late & also people trying to pay less than they should be, the prices are as follows,

Children (0-13) - £3.00 must be accompanied by a responsible adult

Adults (14+) - £7.00 2x rods included

All anglers must have rod licences unless you are under the age that this is required, if the age of an angler is queried we may ask for proof of age.

A polite notice to just remind people of some of our rules at Turbary House Fishery,

Please leave the fishery as you found it!! We would like it if you can use the bins provided or alternatively take all your litter away with you.

We do not allow alcohol or drugs at the fishery, as we are trying to encourage a family environment on the whole of the site & we have other attractions on site, not just the fishery!!

We don’t allow floating baits!!

All anglers must have a unhooking mat with them & it must be used when larger fish are landed!!

We have had an increase of litter, fishing line & tackle being left on the floor in recent weeks, this isn’t good for the wildlife or the fishery, it is a disgrace & will not be tolerated anymore.

We will have to start being stricter with the fishery opening times if needs be, the times that we have recently relaxed as we had seen an improvement at the early stages of the year, but unfortunately there is always a few that spoil it for everyone else!!

We are looking for an enthusiastic & hard working individual to join our team.

The job position that is available is mainly to work in our shop/reception on weekends & on selected days throughout the school holidays.

The job roll requires the following,

A polite manor when dealing with customers,
Confident when speaking to customer’s & colleagues,
Punctual & trustworthy,
Must be able to commute to & from our site,
Experienced working in a shop/reception or in a leisure type roll previously.

The following attributes are preferred but not a necessity,

An angler or a knowledge of angling,
Marketing experience or experience of using social media for marketing,
A love of working in the outdoors & in any weather.

The roll will also include working within the leisure Park activities occasionally & at certain periods regularly, so must be open minded to chip in as & when needed in all aspects of our business.

We have a Fishing Match on the top lake on Saturday 10th June, the bottom lake is available to fish as normal, sorry for any inconvenience.
