Your confidence doesn’t disappear.
It gets suppressed.

Most professionals don’t wake up one day less capable than they were before.
What changes is the environment around them.

Hierarchies.
Meetings where the loudest voice wins.
Unspoken rules about who should speak and when.

Add in a few experiences of being shut down, overlooked, or subtly corrected in front of others, and people adapt.
They become more cautious.
More measured.
Quieter than they need to be.

Over time, that gets mistaken for “loss of confidence”.

In reality, it’s a learned response to pressure, judgement, and past leadership.

And the important thing to know is this:
what’s learned can be unlearned.

If this sounds familiar, it’s far more common than people admit.

If you had a choice… would you be an egg or an onion? 🥚🧅
Hear me out.

An egg adapts to its environment.
Boil it gently and it becomes soft. Keep the heat on and it becomes hard.
It blends with others to create cakes, breads, and all kinds of delicious things.
Or… with time, nurture, and the right circumstances, it can become a whole new life.

An onion, though—now that’s a different story.
Cut into it and it can make you cry.
Mix it with other foods and it keeps its own strong flavor.
It has layers—so many layers—each one hiding the core of who it is.
It blends… but it never loses itself.

So here’s the question:
