Saints took on league newcomers Hardly Athletic tonight at home up at Leyland St Marys 3G. A good competitive game saw Hardly edge us late on and take the 3 points. Well done lads and see you in the return leg.

John “Texas John” Overton got MOM for his hatrick with a special mention to Jack Alty who scored our goal of the game with a lovely finish on his debut. 👏🏻

Our next league game is Sunday 8th December against Chorley Blokes United.

🔵⚪️⚫️ SOCIAL INCLUSION GAME 🔵⚪️⚫️

The Saints are back in action this Sunday in the LFA Social Inclusion League 24/25. We start with a home game against Hardly Athletic FC who are new members of the league this season. It’ll be good to get the lads back together out on the pitch with memories to be made during the new season.

If you’d like to support the lads then please feel free to come watch the game.

🔵⚪️⚫️ SOCIAL INCLUSION LEAGUE 🔵⚪️⚫️

The 2024/25 Social Inclusion League, run through the LFA, has announced that 6 teams will play games home and away this year. The teams will be:

Saints FC
Chorley Blokes United
Hardly Athletic
Village Manchester Football Club (VMFC)
Blackpool Football Therapy CIC
Kendal Community Football Club

Having already played Chorley and Blackpool last year it’ll be great to link up with the 3 new teams. Having a game of footy away from lifes struggles is good therapy for the brain and meeting new opponents and becoming mates is what it’s all about. Good luck to all the teams.

Best get to training on Wednesday lads….no excuses! 🤣👍🏻

We’ve managed to secure an hours spot at Leyland St Mary’s High School 3G with the help of our friends at Leyland Pirates FC. The details are:

🗓️ Wednesday 21st August (Every Weds)
⏰ Meet at 7:45pm (8-9pm session)
🕺🏻 Wear whatever kit you like
😆 Have a laugh
💪🏻 Get fitter
💰 £5 per player

Please get in touch and come along to a session as we have a cracking group of lads and I know a lot couldn’t make the previous time.

🔵⚪️⚫️ SUNDAY FT RESULT 🔵⚪️⚫️

It was the Saint’s last away game of the season today and a trip to Carlisle was on the cards. Usually with that distance it means that lads drop out and make excuses not to come but a good healthy squad of 20 players got on the coach to Border City Greens FC.

The game started at a ferocious pace with BCG on top and they scored early doors to go 1-0 up. Saints then came back into the game and levelled things up through a BEN LOFTHOUSE penalty after hard working Rick had gone down in the box. 1-1.

Saints never capitalised on their opportunities and were left facing punishment as BCG went 2-1 in front with a superbly taken “Beckham esq” free kick. Saints then looked to take the game to BCG and pushed men forward but were hit by a good BCG team goal to make it 3-1 and put the victory out of sight.

Well done to BCG who are well organised under Drew and his crew. Brilliant hosts and great to have food and a beer with back at the pub.

The Saints travel north to play Border City Greens FC this Sunday in their 5th league game and last away fixture in the LFA Social Inclusion League.

All the lads are looking forward to sharing the pitch with some more great men where football is always the winner.

🔵⚪️⚫️ SATURDAY FT RESULT 🔵⚪️⚫️

Saints travelled to sunny Blackpool today to play Blackpool Football Therapy CIC in the LFA’s Social Inclusion League.

Quite a few Saints regulars were missing which gave others a good opportunity for minutes and fitness. STE GREENWOOD scored in the 1st half but Saints went in at half time 2-1 down in a very good competitive game. The lads played some fantastic footy in the Caribbean heat. The game was 4-2 to Blackpool for quite a while with MARK FAHEY notching on his debut. However, Saints had chances to get back level but simply couldn’t convert them. Tired legs in the last quarter after the final “water break” saw Blackpool kill the game off with 3 quick fire goals in the final 10mins. Well done to BFT who took their chances well even when we were on top in stages and they deserved the win.

Many thanks to Ant and the lads at BFT for a great game and for sorting the pitch, ref and post match food. We look forward to the replay at our place.

Rest up lads and see you at training on Wednesday. Can’t knock the effort and work rate today. 👏🏻🥵👍🏻
