🏏ELIJAH TAKES TOP SPOT IN THE 4s BOWLING🏏

We are extremely happy to say that 14 year old has won the bowling averages in the GMCL Div 2 Sunday Division. Playing for our 4s Elijah has taken 33 wickets and an incredible average of 7.70 🫨

Elijah has burst onto the scene this year with his very impressive leg spin and has also been a mainstay in our academy throughout the year.

The final day of the 2026 season is upon us and our 3XI sign off at The Heys with a match against Radcliffe, 1pm start.

The weather looks fine and the bar will be open.

Unfortunately our scheduled 4XI game away at Bury was cancelled yesterday due to an unfit ground. After their 4 wicket win at DSL, our 4s now miss out on the chance of leapfrogging Bury into 5th, or even 4th place in the Division 2 table and will finish the 2026 season in 6th.

As the nights draw in and we change over to our off-season opening times, you’ll be pleased to hear that also means the resumption of Ernie’s ever-popular Quiz Nights!

Scheduled for the last Thursday of every month, apart from December’s Christmas quiz which is on Sunday 20th, they follow the usual format of 7:30pm starts, Β£4 per player and max 6 players per team with cash prizes for the winners and runners-up.

Just a win for the 3XI this penultimate weekend of the season as their quest for a 5th place finish in the Sunday Premier League was bolstered by a 28 run success at Whalley Range. More pics from this to follow.

β€’ Prestwich 3XI 147-9 (Khan 46); Whalley Range 4XI 119ao (Aimal Momand 3-16)

On Saturday the 1XI's game at Shaw was abandoned with no play, as was Edgworth v Egerton, meaning a 3rd place finish in the Robert Hinchliffe Premier League for James Wharmby's team. Congratulations to Champions Brooksbottom who won the league with 15 points to spare.

The 2XI got a full game in against promoted Ashton but lost out by 54 runs. Still, another hugely successful season for Dylan Kane's team with a 6th place finish in Division 2 (the highest placed 2XI in the entire GMCL), along with their cup win from a few weeks ago.

Congratulations to Bury for winning this division and also to promoted Woodley and Ashton.

Finally the 4XI took a point from their loss at home to title chasing Astley and Tyldesley with a top 5 spot in their division still attainable with two games to go.

While the Saturday season came to a close yesterday, there's still a few more games to enjoy before those cricket bags return to their lofts and garages for the winter.

Our 4XI are at home today when they host title chasing Astley & Tyldesley from 1pm.

On the road our 3XI will be looking to push for a mid-table spot with a positive result from their game at Whalley Range, 1pm.
