🪚 GROUND WORK DAY | Thank you to everyone who made it to our West Chilt ground work day, however we are not done yet! We have one more this weekend at our Thakeham ground!

Sat 26 Sept - Abingworth Meadows, 9:30am

Please do offer a couple hours of your time. Everyone uses the facilities and we are all responsible for them. We are a community club, not a professional club, run by volunteers....... With enough help it shouldn’t take more than a few hours total!

There will be bacon rolls, tea and coffee for those who attend!

🏏 UNDER 9/10 | A huge congratulations to our amazing team today who took part in the ‘Sussex Softball Under 9/10’s Cup Finals’ at the iconic Arundel Castle Cricket Club.

Dominik, Hugo, Joseph, Lucas, Monty & Tristan played 5 games- winning against Hurstpierpoint and Heathfield which secured them a place in the quarter finals where they beat Storrington. They then went on to play Southwater in the semi-final who they also won against. This meant they secured themselves a place in the finals against a very impressive Goring.

The boys fought hard and did themselves very proud, but in the end Goring took 1st place with Chilt achieving an amazing 2nd place.

They should be hugely proud of their achievement as they played fantastic cricket against the counties best U9/10 teams. In fact- one of the Sussex coaches came up to them at the end and kindly said “Boys you should be be very proud of yourselves today. You are the 2nd best U10 Team in the county!”

Well done boys and thank you to the parents and family members who came along to support and to Ted for scoring.

🏏TEAM OF THE WEEK | For the final time this season, here is the Thakeham TOTW!

Congratulations to both Tom and Miles on their maiden (senior) tons for the club!

🏏 TABLES | So this is it, the final tables. What a season. Our best ever finish as we end up the third best placed team in the county! Quite remarkable when you think about it really. In 2017 we were in Division 5W. Fifteen years ago we were in Division 3 of the West Sussex Invitation League!

Well done to everyone involved this season, in what turned out to be an excellent year on the field for many of our teams. Congratulations in particular to our Third XI who were promoted!

See you all in 2027!

🏏 LEAGUE RESULTS | The season came to a close at the weekend for our league teams and we finished with a good set of results.

The First got the points they needed to secure third place in the Prem. The Second won, but unfortunately the teams above them also won, so we stay in Division 4W for another year. The Third XI won well, confirming promotion to Div 7W and the Fourth XI had an excellent win in the third place playoff with Rudgwick, cementing third place in the process.

🏆 SENIOR AWARDS | Our end of season awards night for our senior men and women's team players will be immeadiately following the final men's game of the season tomorrow, Saturday 5 September.

All are welcome, there will be a fully stocked bar, plenty of food, music and even some karaoke at the end of the night!

We will start circa 7pm, as soon as the cricket has finished and all teams have made it back to West Chiltington. All our welcome, not just players. Pop along and enjoy the celebrations.
