The Katie Cox Dance Studio is an exceptional school providing dance and musical theatre training in Surrey. Venues in Warlingham and Caterham

Our aim is to inspire young dancers, foster talent and engage dancers in a fun and inclusive atmosphere to become the best dancers they can be. We are the Katie Cox Dance Studio

We offer classical Ballet tuition in conjunction with the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) as well as Modern, Tap and Jazz dance which follow the Imperial Society for Teachers of Dance (ISTD) syllabus. Alongside these core disciplines we also offer complimentary classes in Acrobatic Arts, Contemporary Dance, Musical Theatre, Kicks, Leaps and Turns and Street Dance. Our record of success sees many students obtaining placements at the Brit School, Royal Ballet School and associate programmes with professional Ballet and Modern dance companies.

Feeling very grateful for this one. 🥹🩵

Sarah and I met when we were just 16 years old at college… almost 30 YEARS AGO! 🤯 How is that even possible?!

We’ve grown up together, shared so many chapters of life, and somehow all these years later we’ve found ourselves back together again, this time working side by side at KCDS.

And I don’t think she’ll ever truly know just how much that means to me.

Running a dance school can be the most rewarding job in the world, but it can also be a lot. Having someone beside me who knows me inside out, who I trust completely, who believes in what I’m trying to create and who gives me the support, honesty, love and friendship I need has been such a gift.

Sarah doesn’t just support me. She cares about KCDS, our children and our families as much as I do, and I feel incredibly lucky to have her alongside me for this next chapter.

From two 16-year-olds at college with absolutely no idea where life would take us… to this. 🥹

Nearly 36 years of friendship, and now we get to do this together.

Grateful for you, Sarah! More than you know. 🩵

What an incredible achievement for KCDS. We are absolutely delighted to celebrate two very special awards…

To be recognised with these awards at Beckenham Festival is such a wonderful achievement and a real testament to the girls’ talent, hard work and dedication.

Moments like these are incredibly special. Watching our dancers grow in confidence, develop as performers and have their hard work recognised makes us immensely proud.

Emily and Eva, you should both be SO proud of yourselves. What a fantastic achievement and a very special moment for KCDS. 🖤🩵✨

No tricks, just treats… and some seriously high jumps! 🎃 ✨ Combo Three Ballet spent today on the inflatable perfecting their leaps, hops and elevation. Loved seeing them try something new!

✨ EXAMS AREN’T JUST ABOUT EXAM DAY… ✨

The preparation beforehand is where the magic happens. 🩵

Extra coaching gives our dancers valuable time to focus on the finer details - refining technique, correcting mistakes, improving musicality and accuracy, and most importantly, building confidence.

But coaching is only part of the journey!

🏠✨ Home practice is so important too. Little and often really does make a difference. Going over corrections while they’re fresh helps build muscle memory, strengthens knowledge and means dancers arrive at their next session ready to progress rather than revisit.

A huge thank you to Dancewear on the Move for taking such wonderful care of our dancers and making sure everyone found their perfect first pair. 🩰

🏆✨ GOLD for our Novice Comp Team!

We are SO proud of these dancers! Not only did they bring home a Gold Medal with 90 marks, they also picked up:

🌟 Judges’ Choice Award for Charlie, recognised for his beautiful musicality and leadership 🎭 Costume & Theming Award

The judge loved the dance and praised the team’s commitment, wonderful storytelling and creative concept, and said there’s so much potential in these beautiful dancers. We couldn’t agree more! 💛

Huge well done to every single one of you, and a massive thank you to our amazing parents for all your support behind the scenes. This is just the beginning! 💃🕺
