Walking is genuinely top tier—and I’ll happily die on that hill after walking up it.

It supports your body without smashing your recovery, and it gives your brain some much-needed breathing room. I do some of my best thinking while I’m walking. Ideas come together, problems feel less massive and my head becomes a little quieter.

But I don’t automatically prescribe everyone 10,000 steps.

We all start from different places. For one person, 10,000 steps might be easily achievable. For somebody currently averaging 2,000–3,000, it could feel completely overwhelming.

Yes, if we want something to change, we have to change something—but that change still needs to be realistic.

Start by doing more than you currently do. Add a manageable number of steps, create the habit and then build on it.

Walk around the block while waiting at school. Park further from the office or supermarket. Take the stairs. Walk for ten minutes at lunchtime. These choices seem small, but when you repeat them consistently, they add up.

You don’t need to completely overhaul your life overnight.

Start where you are.
Do a little more.
Then keep building.

Save this and send it to someone who thinks their walk “doesn’t count.” 💜

HOW IT STARTED ➡️ HOW IT’S GOING 💪🏼🔥

We all start somewhere — and I can relate more than you might think.

After having my children, I’d gained weight and started turning up to fitness classes with absolutely no real direction. And don’t get me wrong, classes can be a GREAT place to start — they got me moving, improved my cardio fitness, boosted my mood and, most importantly, inspired me to want to do more.

But over time I learnt where the real magic happens… lifting weights. 🏋🏼‍♀️

Building strength. Building muscle. Learning how to train with purpose and progressively challenging my body.

That didn’t happen overnight.

Rome wasn’t built in a day… and neither are strong bodies. 💪🏼

Start where you are. Get moving. Learn as you go. Keep showing up.

The work takes time — but f**k me, it’s worth it. 💜

MY TOP 6 THINGS THAT TRANSFORMED MY BODY 💪🏼

And spoiler… none of them involved starving myself, living on a treadmill or finding some magical 30-day transformation plan 🙃. 1️⃣ I STARTED LIFTING HEAVY S**T 🏋🏼‍♀️
And stopped believing lifting weights would make me “bulky”.
Turns out building muscle is actually quite f**king difficult. Who knew. 😂. 2️⃣ I STOPPED BEING SCARED OF FOOD 🍝
I learnt to fuel my body instead of constantly trying to eat as little as possible. Protein, carbs, fats — ALL have a place. 3️⃣ I WALKED. A LOT. 🚶🏼‍♀️
Steps are the boring bastard nobody wants to hear about because they’re free, simple and don’t require some influencer screaming at you.
But they WORK. 4️⃣ I STOPPED EXPECTING QUICK RESULTS ⏳
This took YEARS, not weeks. Bodies take time to build. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither are strong bodies. 5️⃣ I GOT CONSISTENT 🎯
Not perfect. CONSISTENT.
I’ve eaten cake. I’ve drunk alcohol. I’ve missed sessions. I’ve had weeks where I couldn’t be arsed.

But I never turned one off-plan meal into a 6-week “f**k it, I’ll start Monday” tour. 6️⃣ I LEARNT TO ACTUALLY ENJOY TRAINING 🫶🏼
This was probably the biggest one. Training stopped being something I did because I hated my body and became something I did because I f**king LOVE what my body can do.

And that’s the bit I want people to understand…

You don’t need to change everything overnight. Start somewhere.
Learn.
Lift.
Eat well.
Move your arse.
Stay consistent.

Then give yourself TIME. You cannot spend 10 years treating your body like a skip and then get pi**ed off because you don’t look like a fitness model after 3 Tuesdays at the gym. 😂

Because the boring basics, repeated for long enough, really do change everything. 💜

No classes from me tonight whilst your all enjoying the bank holiday but I’ll be back for the rest of the week with a load more of this fun s**t 💩! Get yourselves booked on for the final few spaces of the week!

FUNCTIONAL FAVOURITES 🔥

A few of my go-to functional moves that earn their place in my training again and again 💪🏼

Strong. Powerful. Athletic. And most importantly — actually useful.

And if you don’t have a SkiErg? 👀
Cable pulls are such a good variation. Same idea, similar movement pattern, and a great way to work that pull, core and conditioning without needing the actual machine.

Functional training doesn’t need to be complicated or fancy — use what you’ve got and make it WORK.

Save this one for your next functional session 🔖

What’s one functional move you’d NEVER leave out? 👇🏼
