Deeside Walking Football Club

Our all conquering 70s team yesterday before a good day playing at Ruthin Town in the latest round of league fixtures. The lads did really well to pick up 9 points from 6 games in testing conditions. Looking forward to the next round in a few weeks time. Well done guys!

It was another great day at Deeside Leisure Centre today. We had 29 players today and had two games going. It was all played in the right spirit and enjoyed by all, as usual. This club continues to go from strength to strength, picking up new members regularly. We've got 45 now most of whom turn up regularly on Tuesdays at 1pm. All are welcome, but we do set a minimum age of 50. So if you're reading this and are interested please message us and you'll be made very welcome. We have many players well into their 60s and also have the over 70s Welsh Champion team from 2025.

Today, thanks to kind donations of our players to the weekly football card supervised by Ed Roberts, Deeside Walking Football Club made a donation of £210 to our chosen charity, Nanny Biscuit., taking our total for the year to £655. The generosity of all members of Deeside Walking Football Club is greatly appreciated in helping others who may not be so fortunate. Well done everyone 👏

We did it again today! Deeside went down to Newtown for the all Wales play offs and came back with the trophy. It was another day when we were virtually impossible to score against conceding only one goal in the five games. Well done to all the lads who played, a great effort. 👋🏻🏆

We entered two teams in the recent Coalfields Cup at Gresford last Sunday. We came 3rd and 4th and both teams probably played better than their results would suggest. Still a good day out and the lads all enjoyed it. Next big day for us is the 23rd when our 70s compete in the all Wales final down at Newtown.

Deeside 70s yesterday after winning the North Wales WF league by 22 points. In their last 12 games they won 10, drew 2 and kept 12 clean sheets. Brilliant effort lads, now lets take it onto the al Wales final in October.

Deeside WFC are pleased to announce that through our players generosity, we have donated a further £150 to Nanny Biscuit foodbank. This brings our total for the year so far to a staggering £445! Thankyou everyone that has contributed
