π― Minehead Academy β Season 5, Week 2 π―
A full house at the Academy last week, with some more new juniors joining us β which is fantastic to see!
Before we get into the session, a slightly delayed but very well-deserved mention from the end of Season 4β¦
π A huge well done to Charlie, who set a new MGDA highest JDC score of 1372!
We didnβt get the chance to recognise this properly on social media at the end of last season, but Charlie has beaten the previous record and currently holds the highest JDC Challenge score across all of our academies. An amazing achievement β well done, Charlie! π
Moving back to Week 2, last weekβs theme across the academies was alignment. The juniors took part in a range of alignment challenges, while a couple of the boards also worked through some modified challenges.
We then moved on to our weekly JDC Challenge, which produced some great scores once again.
A big shout-out as well to all of our new juniors. Whether it was your first or second week with us, youβre all doing amazingly well and itβs great to see how quickly youβve settled into the Academy. π
π Highest JDC Board Scores β Week 2
Board 1 β Charlie: 1325
Board 2 β Jamie: 974
Board 3 β Harry M: 698
Board 4 β Lucas: 835
Board 5 β Max: 388
π A special well done to Teddy, who recorded a personal best score in just his second week at the Academy. Great progress already β well done, Teddy!
π Academy All-Rounder Award β Lucas
The Academy All-Rounder Award was awarded to Lucas, who attended his very first session at Minehead Academy and recorded an impressive 835 on the JDC Challenge.
To produce a score like that in your first-ever session is absolutely fantastic. A brilliant start β well done, Lucas! π
π₯ 180!
Another big well done to Taylor, who hit a 180 during the pairs games! π―
After the JDC, we finished the session with some pairs games, mixing some of our younger juniors with the older juniors.
It was a great opportunity for everyone to play alongside different people, and there was some fantastic sportsmanship and encouragement on show throughout.
Well done to everyone for another great session. We move on to Week 3 this week! π―π
