What did you opt for this bank holiday?

A weekend of sticking to your diet plans?

A weekend of throwing it all out the window!!

Or a weekend of moderation?

You know, when you’re on a diet or fitness plan enjoyment doesn’t have to stop!

But neither does enjoying yourself mean that you have to over indulge at every available opportunity!!!

But if you have had a ‘throw it all out of the window’ weekend beating yourself up won’t help!

Accept it - it’s happened you can’t change it now!! Hopefully it was enjoyable at the time!

Go back to your ideal eating plan - make sure it’s realistic so you feel less like having a blowout!

That’s it! Simple - no need to punish yourself with starvation or gruelling exercise!!

Just put it behind you and move on!

What things do you need to succeed at your fitness and weight loss goals?

Patience!!!

Losing weight successfully and getting fitter or achieving body goals takes time!!

Most of us want quick results and struggle when we don’t see instant results from our efforts.

But if you can channel some inner patience you will get better results albeit over a longer period of time.

Chopping and changing your plan or coming on and off it all the time will not get results!

Being patient and sticking with it even when results seem slow is key!!!

Having someone to be accountable to (maybe an online PT) can help you stay patient when things get hard and also make those all important tweaks to keep you moving forward!

What things do you need to succeed at your fitness and weight loss goals?

Number 2…

A willingness to make change!

Often when we start our weight loss or fitness plans we overwhelm ourselves with the changes we intend to make to which becomes unsustainable.

But the good news is you don’t need to overload yourself with a million things to do you just have to have a willingness to make small changes over a period of time.

Accepting that you can’t continue to eat the way you have been.

Accepting that you need to move more.

Accepting that unless you make these changes things won’t change!

But also accepting that change doesn’t have to be drastic to get results!

Accepting that making a small change will get more results than making no change.

Accepting that real change happens over time!

A plan!

Not a vague idea of what you’re going to try and do but a clear plan that YOU are ABLE to follow!!!!

A plan gives you something tangible to work with and also helps you see your strengths and weaker areas allowing you to make tweaks for further success!

A plan also helps you stay accountable to yourself!

It’s hard to get started when we see so much ‘perfection’!

But if we let ‘perfect’ ruin our own journey we will stay stuck!

All we need to get started is willingness to show up for ourselves and take an action no matter how small that seems!
