Let me introduce myself!
I’m Leon. If you’re new to Thrive or you’ve just landed on my page, here’s the short version of how I got here.
I started in the pool. Swimming was my first sport and I took it seriously. By 15 I was competing at national level, training to a standard that meant early mornings, hard sessions and no real off season. That’s also when I first stepped into a gym, and I haven’t really left since.
After swimming I spent 10 years in bodybuilding and competed at amateur level. Cutting, prepping, dieting, posing, I’ve been through the whole process.
What I kept noticing was that I was strong. Stronger than the sport needed me to be. So I made the switch to strongman, and I now compete at national level in that too.
Every one of those switches meant starting again as the worst person in the room. New sport, new skills, ego on the floor. I’ve done it three times now and I’d do it again, because that’s exactly what I’m asking you to do when you walk into a gym for the first time.
Who I actually work with:
-Women and men who want to lose weight and keep it off.
-People chasing real strength, whether that’s a first pull up, a first 100kg deadlift or a first competition.
-Women training through perimenopause and menopause, where the rules change and the old advice stops working.
-Complete beginners who’ve never touched a barbell.
Competitors prepping for a platform or a strongman floor.
Different goals, same approach. Train hard, train smart, stay consistent, and eat in a way you can actually sustain. Nutrition isn’t an add on with me, it’s half the result, and I coach it alongside your training rather than handing you a meal plan and wishing you luck.
I’ve had brilliant results with clients across all of it. Not because of one magic programme, but because the plan gets built around you, and then we adjust it as you change.
You don’t need to be fit before you start. You don’t need to know what you’re doing. That’s my job.
If you’re at Thrive, come and say hello. If you’re ready to start properly, drop me a DM with “COACH”.
