Kendo is a form of Japanese fencing with a two-handed bamboo sword. We are a friendly community, who always welcome new people. SS6 9NF. SS6 9BZ.

Welcome to the website of Soushinkan Kendo Dojo, a member of Eikoku Kendo Renmei or The British Kendo Renmei (founded 1973)

Beginners are welcome on the first Friday of each month, please email [email protected] for more information or to let us know you will be dropping by, so we can have a Shinai for you to borrow. We do not charge for teaching Kendo but we all pay £7 (£5 for Children

[28th January 2022 Beginners Class Starts]

Fee: £55 plus £10 for BKA temporary membership fee

This includes 6 beginners class session fee
AND a Shinai(stick) supplied.

Please turn up with excercise suitable clothes such as T-shirt and jogging bottoms. Expected to remove shoes and socks during session to work out with bare feet. Please make sure keep toe nail short to avoid injury.

Highly recommend to bring your drink bottle.

Pleased to announce that next beginners course starts from 10th September 2021, £55 for 6 weeks session, Shinai(stick) included. At the same time as usual practice of every Friday 7-8pm.

Finally! We are back to practice on 30th July 2021.
1 hour only on the Friday 7-8pm.
(as the venue close at 8pm for now)
No need of Bogu for the first couple of sessions.
Beginners course will starts soon after.
We need to make sure we can do things safely first.

As much as we are desperate to go back to Kendo practice, our venue Fusion sports centre hasn't confirmed if they open anytime soon yet.

Hope they'll make prompt decision as goverment has announced reopening sporting venue guidance recently.

We will let you know as soon as find out.

Tonight's Kendo session is ON, but might be shorter hours depends on turns up. And might not to have keiko to avoid heated session with close face to face distance.

We have NO session on Friday 14th February 2020 due to annual table tennis tournament at our venue.
