Reading Amateur Regatta 1842 - one of the UK's premier head-to-head regattas. Side-by-side racing on
The Reading Amateur Regatta brings exciting rowing to the Thames in Reading. The Regatta has a long history ( it was established in 1842) and is now recognised as a major Regatta leading up to Henley Royal Regatta. As such, results achieved by crews at the Reading Amateur Regatta contribute to Henley qualifying status. In addition, with the regatta being held in the weekend before Henley Women’s R

The Regatta Committee would like to thank everyone who played a part in the 2023 Reading Amateur Regatta.
The weekend racing programme was full with approximately 200 races on both Saturday and Sunday. While the weather on Saturday was excellent and the racing programme was completed in full, due to the dangerous weather conditions on Sunday afternoon, regrettably, the Regatta had to be stopped early to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
While no finals were run in the Sunday afternoon division, the results of all completed races are available on our website:

You can still download your copy of the Reading Amateur Regatta Souvenir Programme (in PDF).
We are looking forward to welcoming you again next year!

After a few years away Reading Amateur Regatta is back!
In 2019 we had a fantastic regatta with crews coming from all over the UK, The United States of America, Ireland and even New Zealand.
2022 should be no less special and we are so excited to be back. 2022 will be the 180th anniversary of Reading Amateur Regatta (1842). It is more than just a regatta, it is part of Reading's history. 2022 is also the 75th anniversary of Reading Düsseldorf Association and also 200th anniversary of Huntley and Palmer’s biscuit factory. At the end of last year one of our committee members asked if Reading Amateur Regatta could help out with the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of Reading Düsseldorf Association.
The Committee of Reading Amateur Regatta is delighted to be able to do so.
The Championship Course at Reading Amateur Regatta - have you entered?
Dear Rower/Supporter of Reading Amateur Regatta,
It is with great regret that the Reading Amateur Regatta Committee must communicate that the 2021 Reading Amateur Regatta has been cancelled.
After much planning and consultation with Reading Borough Council, the Committee is not satisfied that it can comply with the coronavirus guidelines as laid down for safe racing in 2021, considering the Regatta uses public land adjacent to the Thames.
We are very sorry not to see you all in Reading this year, but we hope that you will be able to join us on 'our' stretch of the Thames for Reading Amateur Regatta in 2022 on 11th and 12th June.
With best regards and warmest wishes
