So, as a darts coach I have put a lot of thought into checkouts and the best ways to achieve them. One where I have changed my mind recently is 76.
So, three darts in hand, you have 76 left, where are you going with your first dart and why?
Interested to know your thoughts, can you change my mind again?

I am very pleased to say that Reading is getting its own weekly darts academy!
Starting on Monday 17th August and based in Burghfield Community Sports Association, the home of Berkshire Darts. We have use of their sports bar with 4 boards permanently set up.
So, if you have a child aged 8 to 17 (or younger based on a assessment) then please drop me a message and book your place!

Calling all darts playing kids
There is a new darts academy starting up just outside Reading
Venue is Burghfield Community Sports Association, the home of Berkshire Darts and we have use of their sports bar with at least 4 boards up permanently.
Academy starts 17th August, price to be finalised as I work through affiliation and or sponsorship arrangements in next few weeks but likely to be around £35 per month per child in line with other academies.
Please reach out if you would like to know more, or tag your dart playing friends. The wider reach we get the better.

Another lovely review from a client this week. I know it's a bit long but he really makes the point about darts coaching versus advice. You really can be practicing wrong and it really will hold you back! Drop me a message if improving your game is something you want to do. I will make it just as relaxed, put you at ease and show you how to improve with video to support.

I was highly impressed by Ali as a qualified darts coach - this was my first darts lesson ever and his calm and reassuring approach came across relaxed yet meticulous. As someone fast approaching middle-age who has been playing consistently for several years, I questioned how much I could gain from a darts lesson. I am pleased to say that Ali immediately improved my game, picking up on many mechanical issues but also adjusting my technique to account for my specific physiology. It immediately made sense to me and I felt rather enlightened by it!
For a long time, I’ve heard that there is no point having darts lessons, “just practice practice practice” but that could not be further from the truth. If your technique isn’t good or you have bad habits in your game (etc), you are only going to further embed them without help or advice. This has taught me that there is a big difference between the advice a good dart player gives and the advice a qualified darts coach can provide. Ali also taught me many nuances I’ve never thought about including how to establish the correct focus/mindset. Overall, I thought this was excellent value for money and I really couldn’t fault the lesson given. I would entirely recommend.
