U12 Girls - Zinc
Dormanstown Rovers welcomed our neighbours Redcar Athletic. We knew it was going to be a difficult game against a team who came down a division and have been scoring goals for fun. However the first half Dormo played their best football all season, strong in the tackle and suffocating the strikers not allowing them time on the ball. Dormo took the lead when Isla ran onto a long ball from Ava which was flicked on by Ella and despatched it into the back of the net. Redcar found an equaliser but the girls didn’t let that effect them and not long after took the lead again when Isla ran onto Porsha’s ball over the top and again finished brilliantly, 2-1 to Dormo at half time. 2nd half was a different story as Redcar Athletic looked like a different team, as the half went on Dormo got tired and the girls tried to stay positive however it wasn’t to be and it finished with the Redcar team taking the win The girls should be proud of how they played and keep improving week on week. The performance from these girls is unbelievable, considering they're a brand new team they power on through games like they've been together years. Well done girls fantastic effort.
Goals:- Isla x 2. ⚽️⚽️
🏆POTM:- Porsha and Evie (it was hard to choose this week)

🥶⚽ TIBS AWAY – 2-1 WIN! ⚽🥶
Today we travelled to TIBS for a very early kick-off on a bitterly cold morning! 🥶
A team we’ve played against and alongside many times, with lots of the girls knowing each other well. But that didn’t affect the game one bit!
From the first whistle, TIBS came at us with everything they had, but they came up against our brick wall of a defence! 🧱💪 They continued to press and push forward, but time and time again, the girls stood strong and dealt with everything thrown at them.
Then came our breakthrough! 🔥 Playing out from the back, the ball went straight up the line with a brilliant run to follow. The cross came into the box, with feet and legs flying everywhere, before the rebound fell to the edge of the box. Ava stepped over the ball and calmly slotted it into the bottom corner! 👏⚽ A brilliant team goal, finished with composure and class… and an almost-celebration! 🤣🤣
Half-time: 1-0!
The second half kicked off, and the girls looked in control, moving the ball well and playing some fantastic football. However, a slight lapse at the back allowed TIBS to break through. After several fantastic saves, they eventually found the net to bring the scores level.
But, as always, the girls never gave up! 💪 Clearance after clearance as TIBS threw everything at us, with the defence standing strong once again.
Then came a clearance that led to a corner in our favour… and what a corner it was! 😍 Whipped in with pace and met perfectly at the back post by Juliette, who made no mistake in putting us back in front! ⚽🔥
This time, the girls weren’t letting that lead slip! We pushed on, created chance after chance, only to be denied by the offside flag on a few occasions
The girls dug deep, saw the game out and came away with a fantastic 2-1 victory! 🙌
A brilliant team performance, full of determination, resilience, great football and two cracking goals. Every single girl played her part, and the result was thoroughly deserved! ❤️👏
UP THE DORMO GIRLS! 🔴⚫⚽💪
