Reigate Priory parkrun cancelled this Saturday. Please pass on the message

We’ve made the decision to cancel tomorrows junior parkrun, for the safety of everyone involved.

With temperatures forecast to drop to -4 at 9AM tomorrow morning, the park and surrounding areas are going to be (and already are) incredibly icy, and we don’t want anyone falling over and seriously hurting themselves.

The adult parkrun cancelled this morning for similar reasons, and there’s no reason to believe conditions will get any better.

Reigate Priory parkrun 3rd January 2026 - watch this space
We currently NO LONGER think that we will be on in the morning. HOWEVER we need to be sure that the course and access are safe for our runners and volunteers. We will do an inspection and update this post based on what we find by 21:00. Fingers crossed

If you are coming to Reigate Priory parkrun in the morning (1/1/26) it will be chilly and the ground will be quite hard, so take care over the ruts, roots and rocks. The café will not be open until 9. We think the toilets round the back of the café will be open before then, but we're not 100% sure. How lucky do you feel? We will be able to find you an alternative if anyone's desperate.
We don't recommend coming straight from your NYE party to parkrun.

If you are coming to Reigate Priory parkrun tomorrow (6th December 2025) please note that the course will be muddy and trail shoes would be appropriate. Perhaps even studs or wellies.

It’s that time of year when you test the cold weather clothes to make sure they still work. Why not try them out this Saturday at Reigate Priory parkrun while you are Barcode Scanning, Tailwalking, Number Checking, Funnel Managing or helping with Anomalies.
